I'm just curious to see others situations out there, how it has worked out, what may have went wrong, pros, cons, etc.
I've also been thinking about teaching her and wonder what some people think about that. I've been told it could be great or could be awful. How would you even train someone that's never played and doesn't know the rules, like where would u even begin?
Basically my story is I just moved in with my girlfriend from college who now has a 8-6 work day at a mortgage banking company and I'm wondering how everything is going to work out. I've heard awful stories about people in relationships with poker, but I also know there are great stories. I try to play Sunday, Wednesdays, and maybe a Mon or Tues in there somewhere... but even limiting play our schedules are so different.
Pretty sure when I met PokerPro he said he had a wife and he was still traveling the world somewhat.
I really like this one and want to do everything I can to make it work, and if this came off too homo fml, lol, but I really just wanna hear about other peoples situations, good or bad

1. are you a full time poker player (pro)? 2. make sure your gf gets the cock every night before sleep (except red tides) 3. buy her flowers once a week, then it's okay to grind 12 hour poker sessions (on sundays)
4. do not teach her poker, if she wants to learn... tell her to try facebook poker 5. tell her poker is your job, you must schedule yourself around tournament start times, just like how she has to work a 8-6 shift. 6. take her out for dinner once in awhile with your earnings (bottle of wine, fine dining)

In B4 someone says "Women are the rake".
My wife likes to play poker. I taught her how to play 7card stud and the first tourney she entered she won lol.
We dont play HU home games cause she gets pissed at me all the time.
You can always send her to Mavens school.

Im assuming you have been with this girl for a awhile since you are now moving in together. If she doesnt know the deal by now about what you do for a living then I dunno.

I Have a gf of 4 years, been livin 2gether for 3.5 years. I pretty much play wed and su days and am lucky to get 1 othr day a week, my gf is not into poker at all, she doesn't care bout money at all (parents r loaded) just wants my time and attention. I've tried to convince her to let me teach her to play cuz she'd make Hella money (super hot) but she's not interested I think just on principle. Eithr way I think having the gf in general is +ev cuz she forces me to take time off and When I do play I'm super stoked + obv the benefits of constant pussy is super nice!

I don't play full time, but do spend a lot of time playing poker. My girl is ok with it and is very supportive, however it can be stressful on a relationship as poker is a more night/weekend type job and that is usually when people who work a normal shift have off. This can be straining, but seeing as you play 2-4 days a week it should not be that bad. Just make sure you have a day/two where its always the day you guys do something together (this has worked wonders). I don't see this going wrong if you don't play Friday and Saturday.
As far as travel goes, just take her with you. No girl should really have a problem with this especially if the guy is making at least 3x her salary a year like you are.
edit: as far as teaching just get her some books then answer questions, I'm not sure about your personality but it's kind of frustrating teaching someone who has never played before.

LOL at teaching her... if she wants to play poker let her learn herself, otherwise everything else is standard. gf and poker IMO is same as poker without one
