Looks 100% standard to me. You have 8 BBs and about to hit the blinds, an M of just over 3. What "great" player had a problem with this?

The "great" part was sarcastic, but there was more than one.  One of them said it was bad since it was close to the bubble.........no lie.  I guess that is why these games are good but the variance is vomitous.  Feel free to use that word in any situation you'd like.

Standard.  It's bustyounow's call that they should have been bashing.

NH

Give 'em the old "Yeah, that was pretty dumb, I guess I got a little tilty, but now that I have chips I'll tighten back up."

The majority of players have no idea that they are supposed to protect their fold equity.  I go over this situation several times with my students, and most of them are telling me that they are shoving {AQs, 99} or something like that in this spot.

if they were ever half way decent theyd know thats the right spot for a shove.

Thanks Jennifear.....unfortunately those sixes held.  bustyounow made a comment indicating that he was proud to have the guts to make the call.  It was another player who then commented on my shove with "no hand."

Poker is hard.

Okay, the true test:

Does the guy who commented on your hand selection have a little note on him stating that he is likely shoving tight with 8 BB from EP or something to that effect?

Did you defend your play?

If the answer is YES to the first question, and NO to the second one, you played the hand perfectly!
