I want a student (Edited: Sorry If I don't respond to PM's)

I've decided that I am going to start tutoring some players.  Although I might at some point charge money for lessons, for now I'm looking to practice 1 on 1 instruction and looking for a student.

So, please use this thread if you are interested in getting private lessons.  Please tell me about yourself, your goals, and why you think you would be a good fit.  I don't care how experienced or inexperienced you are, so anyone can apply.

Good luck,
tc

EDIT:  you can PM me if you want to say something that you don't want on the board.  However, I really can't respond to PM's as I've had probably 125 or so.  And if for some reason you have my email, please don't email me... I'd like to keep all the app's in one place.  Thanks!!

CARD RUNNERS MEMBER

CR member. Recently switched back to cash games. Starting Low --> moving up.
GOAL: to be playing 10/20NL HE by Sept next year, using proper BR Management.

I have always been an out of control LAG but am training to play a more controlled LAG (i.e. more position oriented, less calling from the blinds)

Pick Me pick Me.

EDIT:
27 year old, Proffesion: Networking/System Admin
Currently playing .50/1.00 NLHE 6max
Winning Player who always took shots (bad br management)
Withdrew a large portion of my roll recently

I will post any articles, stats, progress, videos on CR/P5's at your request.
I will be dominating 10/20 by end of next year with or with out 1 on 1 sessions with you.
I will forget everything I ever thought I knew about poker if you mentor me.
I will dedicate myself to poker during the duration of teachings.
I will donate a portion of my winnings during the duration of your mentoring to the charity of your choice or a private tournie for CR members.

Unless this is a gotcha post like the one I perpetrated earlier, I am interested.  I simply want to learn the game better.  I am an old guy, 42.  Late starter.  Goals are to enjoy the game to its fullest.  Cant say why I would be a good fit, dont know what you mean by that.  I know that you are primarily a cash game player and that is what I want to be better at.  I dont want to be the supreme being of poker, just want to know it inside and out and enjoy the hell out of it when I play, knowing that I made the right decisions at the right time.

If it is a gotcha, good on ya.

I've been playing the game for several years, understand the basic concepts, understand some of the more advanced concepts, but have been out of the game for the majority of the past 4 months. An opportunity to be taught by one of the best internet cash game players on the internet would be just that, an opportunity for me.  GL on finding someone worthy.

I play almost exclusively tournies but am very interested in learning a good strategy for cash games. I play 20-30 hours a week now, but if I had a phoenom poker tutor such as yourself I would change my schedule to play a lot more in the future. I've been playing poker for 1 year and change, but only taking it seriously for about 4 months. I love to learn and play poker, so I would be an ideal student IMO. I'm very serious about improving my game and think I will benifit greatly from some 1 on 1 instruction from an online legend such as yourself. My goals are to become succesfull enough at poker to pursue my other interests in life without having to work 30 years to achieve them.

I'm a hard worker, somewhat intelligent, and eager to learn. The only thing I can guarantee is that you won't be wasting your time working with me. I've tried poker training sites and I don't think I get as much from them as most do, I like to be able to have conversations and discuss things instead of being "taught", so training sites are not my cup of tea. I've long felt that if I was close to a great player that I could discuss the holes in my game and how I should improve them I would be much better for it. If you're looking to mold the next GP I would probably not be a good choice, but if you want to work with someone that is interested in picking your brain and adjusting his style and the type of play he is comfortable with and your knowledge of the game I would be ideal for you.

I would definitely be interested in getting private lessons from you.  I'm currectly a student at University of Illinois and live in the Chicago area during the summer.  I've been very successful at beating mid-limit sng's, and was able to beat $200NL tables for most of this summer, but haven't been able to win any meaningful amount of money playing cash NL in the passt couple months.  I would definitely appreciate learning from a great player to help me climb the NL cash ladder.

Wow, free lessons from a great player like yourself, how could anyone not be interested.

I'm 18, and looking to make poker more than a hobby.  Have played everywhere from .10/.20 nlhe to 2/5 nlhe both live and online anywhere from 1 to 10 tables.

Lately have been grinding low stakes sitngo's and very recently picked up omaha h/l and have been playing mostly that of late.

Would love to become a better nlhe cash game player however, as that is where all of the money seems to be.

Definately would be interested.

I usually play 1-2NL to 2-4NL, always considered myself to be a good player but recently realized that I throw to much money away with the leaks in my game. Actually looking for someone to help with these issues so I can increase earnings and take my game to a higher level. My goals are to continue to improve and eventually move up to play the highest cash games, and challenge you to a heads up match.

GP i would love to be your student, i always watch when you are on if you are playing, and i like your style, read most of your articles, and am a big student of the game, i read a lot of poker books, and posts here and on 2+2 and try to watch most of the top players and see how they play their hands they have (when they are flipped over on the showdown)....it would really mean a lot to be a student of one of the best cash game and online poker players of all time

i started playing 7-card stud about 4 years ago, and became facsinated with all games about 3 years ago...and really learned how to play limit-holdem first, then nl...and now im playing a lot of poker as i work and in the process of transferring schools to become a CPA hopefully, i got my real estate license but only do that part-time...i have a lot to learn and learning from you would be great! thanks for taking the time to read this. good luck to you and to whoever you choose!
