380 people in a 100 freeze and under 8k for first? 50r is like 8k for first? Simply awful and very greedy by stars if it is due to have more rake circulating quicker. Is WCOOP going to have this new awful payout? I thought point of mtts was play for first.

cashing in a tourney (something i havent done in months lol) and not getting ATLEAST your buyin back is the most retarded, asinine idea ever related to poker.
thats like me buying a dollar scratch off and winning .75 back. woo fucking hoo.

"Cashing" for less than buy-in is ridiculous. There are some tourneys on FTP where this occurs as well though.

Someone said in an different thread that this was done to spread more $ out to the average player in turn allowing them to play more tournaments and paying more rake.
Most of the players that object are too invested in stars to just boycott it and the other players like it b/c they get to make the $$ more easily.
The payouts are so horrid, but I am not sure what can be done to change it.

I would agree that FTP has a better tourney schedule and payout system, but the reason that Stars is #1 and will continue to be #1 is because Stars reward system is by far and away the best in the industry. FTP points are basically useless and take forever to accumulate. Eventhough Stars new payouts suck, the biggest cashes have been and still are on Stars. But, I do agree that the payout system Stars has now is just not very good. If they want to pay out more people pay out 11-12% but 15-20% of the field being paid is just way too many...
