My Explanation

To understand my scenario, you must first understand my day. I picked up my brand new expensive computer from a computer store today (I tried to build it, without knowing anything abotu CPUs, I suck!). I got home about an hour before the MTTs start, and it was very hectic, and I was stressing out a ton. My Grandparents come to the house every weekend. My Grandma is an absolute poker fanatic, and I try to teach her how to play just due to her sheer enthusiasm. I stake her occasionaly, as much -EV as it is. I'll be honest, I do not conserve money the best. I staked her to play the 500k at Party. A few hours later, I bust out of Party, and am only playing 1 MTT. Finally, I am relaxed. I see that she has amassed a decent stack. I start coaching her every hand. Once she got to aobut 10k in chips, I took over, still talking to her. When I got to 100k (tripled from 33k), I asked her to leave the room, and she could watch me on the laptop. I do get nervous and emotional when I get deep, and I figured I had a real shot at it. Of course, my grandma being the kind soul that she is obliged. Before I know it, I won the thing. I am thinking of buying her a new car, but I haven't put much thought to it.

I didn't really realize people would make that big of a deal of it until 10 people started IMing me telling me to prepare for shit. Curse at me, hate me, flame me. I can't say that I do expect less.

But, I just won 140k! Not even all this flaming can take away the amazing feeling I have right now.

referring more to the Harding/Kerrigan fiasco than to the French judging but point taken.

you people live in fantasy land.  You play online poker.  You know damn well the risks that are invovled and know that not all aspects are totally legit.  So why do u cry so much when u find out someone stepped out of line.  I mean seriously, we are online gamblers.  Stop pretending that this is some highly regarded/respected industry with classy/respectable people. (I am in no way trying to say anything about JJ...I have never even met him).  If you choose to play online then you choose to accept the risks that come along with it.  And one of those risks happens to be one person playing mutiple accounts.

You all know that in some cash games there are people who have two accts and are sitting at the same table wiht both.  Or a group of friends who are all on the phone playing in the same cash game.  Yet you still choose to play in those games.  It all comes with the territory.

After reading through all this I've come to the conclusion that Shaniac Jr. is not you're avgerage sidekick, he can think on his own with amazing accuracy.

I guess we should let cheating slide then since it comes with the territory. How stupid of me to care.

So basically what you are saying is that you don't give a crap about what goes on, just as long as you get yours in the end...Fair enough, perfectly acceptable attitude based on the principles of capitalism (which I am all for)...But just know if the small little peons start to find out about this stuff, the fish will start drying up and instead of competing against a field of 1000s where maybe 10-20% know what they are doing, you will be competing against a field of hundreds where 80% know what they are doing (like the old days of the WSOP)...I'm sure that's not something that you are looking to have happen...

You have got to be kidding me. This is honestly your view? Its as easy as that with you. Eh...you all play online so you know the risks! Excuse me, I guess I just live in fantasy land. I mean, to have a problem with online cheating. Yes, I play online, but is it out of the questions and fantasy landish to want a clean game? Yes, I think we all know that this type of activity goes on, but when top players excuse this activity and go with the attitude "Its happening so you may as well accept it anyway" it is not good at all. Frankly your attitude about this is dissapointing.

Muchaka, I'm astonished at your attitude.  Just because "it's done" doesn't make it ethically or morally right.  It's not crying to discuss a problem that exists.
