I got a scoop for all of you: Most top players have multiple accounts so get over it. My wife plays 25/50 nl, and sometimes when shes feeling good, even higher. My brother  has won tournaments.  Its a fact of life so dont even think of bashing JJ for this. When there are big tourneys one of the beauties of online play is that you can enter more then one account. The chance of ending at the same table with yourself is very very unlikely.  So if you must, flame away, but wake up and smell the coffee.

This seems like total BS on a couple of accounts. First of all, NOT all top players play on multiple accounts. I would guess that people who do are in a big minority. Thor, I think you come across as pompous and ignorant in saying that people should accept it. That's not how it works. People playing multiple accounts in the same tournament is horse shit -- bottom line. This isn't something everyone should let fly and accept. Online poker has enough uncertainties, this doesn't help anyone. Players like JJ Prodigy are good enough to play one account and do well enough. I'm more worried about this being commonplace than people getting on Prodigy. What he did was his own choice, let's not support this, it's not the way the game was meant to be played. Good job everyone who stated their opinion. Just because everyone doesn't play in the biggest games does not mean that they don't know what they're talking about. Keep it fair .. if someone was seated at one table under two names I would be pissed if I was at that table and had to face that disadvantage. Especially when it's against a top player who can use position and stack against his/her opponents to give them an added edge.

Well maybe this is one of the reasons that pokersites only allow one account, Its possible this is one of the problems that was forseen. I guess I am the only player alive who has one name and one account on each site.

JJs explaination is fine with me, he sounds truthful, As long as he is not collecting bets this way from other players. Still if you break the rules on the pokersites dont be suprised if people call you on it.

Congrats on your win JJ.

thor is a really nice guy, he is just backing JJ up and was trying to stem the flood of negative posts he anticipated, give him a break!

Well, regardless of what they allow, do you really think they give  a fuck if people play multiple accounts? It must generate untold amounts of rake.

Along the lines of others here, it is amazing how many people are defending this action.  I always knew that there was some collusion in online poker, but prior to going to Australia last month I had no idea how many people played multiple accounts in the same tournament.  I talked to several people who play multiple accounts in the same tourney and they don't even think twice about it.  I guess poker is just an unethical game and any time you try to bring ethics it doesn't work and you will have cheats.  Playing with 2 accounts is such blatant cheating and I think it is partly Party's fault for allowing people to have 34 accounts.  I just find it amazing how many people don't even think it's wrong.  The US should not legalize online poker if cheating is thought to be ok by the top members of its community.

pass the J this way Shaniac jr.

statistically i'll state the obv-ious. 2x the buy-in, randomly your chance of winning is doubled. although for a good tournament player. this won't do.  having multiple accounts allows a player to take huge risk on one acct without losing the possiblity of moneying the tourney. seeing that the lowest tier of making the money in the stars tourney was something lik 590$ i believe, then moneying brings a 37% ROI. the average player will randomly money 1 in 10. with 2 accts, this is one in 5. 20% of the time the average player will make at least a 37% return. is this right?

anyways, a good player will money more than 10% of the time, obv. i don't currently feel up to making an excel spreadsheet, but maybe tomorrow. if anyone makes it before me..pm me.

also, since good players tend to go deeper into the money when they money, the ROI is going to be higher. i know that multiple accounts makes for a player that will take greater risks, make more marginal plays and calls in order to accumulate chips as quickly as possible.

we'll have to work on this more soon...i'm getting some sleep

1.) having 2 accounts in one tourney is wrong.

2.) we don't know that JJprodigy was playing or if his grandma was.  I'm not gonna call jj a liar, and neither should you.

3.) This stuff happens all the time.

4.) That does not make it right

5.) I do not play multiple accounts.

JJprodigy had a great day and you are all ruining it.

please let him be

You are so disingenuous.

You don't really think having 2 accounts in the same tourney is wrong do you? DO YOU?!

If you believe JJ's story about his grandma absolves him on the issue, Shaniac Jr. thinks you might be interested in buying a stake in a bridge that's for sale back in his hometown Brooklyn.

To Shaniac Jr, it's still kind of lame. Like the corporatization of online poker MTTs. Golden Arches are on the way, Ukraine's 001-2020 in every tournament. Death of the small businessman. Goodbye Sunday dreams.

played w/ that guy (not guys)
