i just realized how some of the books you order through FPP are a rip off. For example Harrington on Holdem costs 2000 FPP. Which comes to $0.0156*2000= $31.20. ($0.0156 is the standard rate for each FPP, I calculated buy taking a $250 Futureshop Gift card divided by 16000 FPP.)
So you're basically paying $31.20 for the book, when you can get the book for like $21 on Amazon new.
Books are definitely not worth purchasing it through stars.

good call...never did the math on these things lol.

Not nearly as bad as the electronics.
Despite the fact I wouldn't mind having another samsung 204b I won't use my FPPs on it when I can use them for sunday mil tickets, giftcards, etc and get a ton more value.
I really wish they would price everything more reasonably.

The difference is, assuming you are a winning player, it is almost free (aside from rake).

those LCD's they charge 40,000 FPP's for are equivalent to how much real money?
Using your value per FPP... .0156* 40,000...comes to $624 bucks ?? thats a pretty good deal is it not?

seems like a great deal to me

IMO,the best value is to play the Sun Million 1 table SNG's for like 5400 fpps or whatever it is.I think the top 4 in those get seats.

Tiltinshoes,
Thats a horrible way to look at it. Whatever amount of FPPs you have has a value.
They obviously aren't worth nothing. Obviously getting an item that is worth far less than the value of the FPPs is -EV.

LOL guess you didn't look at my comment of the rake and assumption of being a winning player. Trust me, I see the value, but your comment is just off as other people have already stated that as a matter of fact they are a great deal. I don't know the specifics, but if you can manage the Porshe it looks like a hell of a deal too (althought most people will never come close to generating those points.)

I'd rather wait and spend 40k FPP's on an LCD lol.

For a winning player 63 FPPs=$1(aproximately). For a losing player 63 FPPs=$1(aproximately). For a breakeven player 63 FPPs=$1(aproximately).
The value doesn't change. Its irrelevent. The electronics and various other items are overpriced. This isn't my opinion, its pure math.
Without looking up the sticker. I do recall that the porsche does happen to be a decent deal.
However, most of the electronics and other physical goods are far more pricey than giftcards, tournament tickets, and FPP satellites.

I don't see a 40000 FPP LCD. Am I blind?

They don't have to give us any FPP's at all. So its basically all free.
|
|
|
But they DO give us fpps and those fpps have real money value.
I don't see the 40k lcd either.
