I can't wait for all good players to leave Pstars anyway... so might be a good idea

Why shouldnt Stars not allow him to play? He has stole money from their site and the players they look out for. He can go play any other tourney, but one put on by Stars they should turn him down, he has been a cheater on their site for a long time. IMO, they did the right thing, why should he be given a chance to play in a tourney by a company which he has scammed and cheated for years?

The key element is they are a prime sponsor, and so have a lot of say. EPT would have to go out and find another large sponsor, suffer the PR problems when PS flew their press release explaining why they pulled the sponsorship. The brick and mortar casino's have the black book, if your a know cheat your not allowed in period so it should be with JJ.

AJ, your not thinking this thru. If the superuser account at AP had been a regular Joe Schmo should they have allowed him to play in Aruba?
Certainly you can give credence to the fact that they created and sponsor this event, therefore they can also refuse entry to someone that has violated their rules repeatedly.
This isn't a case of some random whacky decision to pass judgement on someone and ban him for no reason. It is a business making the only logical decision it could make in that it bans him from anything they sponsor.
After all it makes no difference if is is live or online right? It's still a Poker Stars tournament.

The idea that a company would continue to do business with someone who has willfully disregarded their rules, to this extent, is ridiculous. I am not one of the high-and-mighty judgmental types who believe JJ should be burned at the stake before he can vote. As a person, if I knew him, I would be kind and understanding towards him. I've made mistakes in my life, even the same mistake over and over again. But I would never (knowingly) play poker with the dude, live or otherwise, and PokerStars can't expect others to do so either. You reap what you sew.

jeff, jj made a mockery of pokerstars by cheating and then flaunting the fact that he continued to cheat for years after his ban in his "apology"-how you can construe that as Stars "fucking with JJ" and not vice versa is crazy

i have only read thread up to this point but this is ridiculous...
if a guy steals and then quits stealing, fine let him be.. dont lock him for life because he stole a car in 1975... but if a guy steals a car, gets caught, goes to jail, gets out, steals 3 more, gets caught, gets out, steals 5 more then the guy doesnt deserve any more chances.
