No, I think he is looking for a low risk confrontation free hand. He just wants the chips already in the middle. There are many worse situations than a race, but I don't think thats what he was looking for.

Gank no offense to you but I could really care less if i knock you, bax, emptyseat or joechicago out of a tourney. After you pushed I had to figure out if I had pot odds. Honestly I do beleive I am pretty much pot committed here I figure at worst I am on the fence on this one. I have to to call 6k to win a 12k plus pot. You have a wide range of hands cause like me you want to win and your not going to win by not takeing risks. If ranked player would of made this call they would be praised.
Oh by the way currently I am in first w/ 120k and 2nd has 65k with 18 left.
I do not consider myself a top internet player and I know I do make mistakes were all here to learn. Maybe this was one of those, maybe your just heated and not looking at the situatuion as a whole.

We had a thread in hand advice and "Is calling the new folding?". It used to be you won tournaments without showdowns. Now people are calling more and possibly are correct in doing so and the odds are doing the work, thereby, creating more variance.
I know for myself I look for more reasons to call then I used to and I can say that even when I was playing with you back in the day you were the guy with the target on his back and I was willing to take a bit of the worst of it to take you out.

Well this is an obvious instance where Gank does not want to get called, even with a playable hand and a coinflip situation, but my comments were pointed toward Gank's remark that ranked players get called with a wider range of hands because the average Joe needs a story for his home game... (Gank, please correct me if I misinterpreted your remarks ). All I am saying here, is this. If these same players are willing to call this raise with mediocre hands, don't you make alot of money by them calling when you have premium hands?

This is like Dannenman bluffing Lederer out of that one pot. Everyone
wants to knock out or bluff the better/best players. Should be making
you money in the long run though

I dont have any comment on these specific hands but I do feel like people play back at me alot because I'm ranked or whatever. I also have a semi-reckless image and I think that has alot to do with it. I've just adjusted, keep repopping me with K2o plz....

Gank,
Ya can't get rid of em lately...seem they r calling more and more...My favorite is when someone bets a 1000/1500 preflop and you raise them 10/12k and they call off all their chips...skout... and to explain their idiotic call of your raise that put them allin as a huge dog they write: " I was pot committed" !
Really not that funny at that time,
Dit

I got called by exactly the same hand very recently in the late stages of a tournament on Stars. Unless I am dominating him I don't want the call, however I am never that upset when I have my money in as a favourite to win the pot. You can't spend time worrying about your opponent making bad calls, because it is a pointless exercise.

I am happy knowing I will get calls like this, I just prefer them when I have a big hand.
