Worrying signs for this November Ninealist, he did not play the FTOPS Main Event today and has been seen playing live $2/$5 cash in AC in recent weeks.

Pretty sure I saw on wickedchops that he was known to indulge fairly frequently in illicit substances, could this be a factor?

Hopefully I'm over-reacting... can anyone confirm/deny?

Cheers,

SP

I saw Steven Danneman playing $3-$6 LHE in Vegas within a year after his runner-up finish.  I asked why he was playing so low and he said he was just comfortable with the game and it's what he used to play before his big score.  Just because people hit a once in a lifetime score certainly doesn't mean that they are capable of playing high stakes cash games with proven regulars.  Certainly they can deal with the swings but gotta see it as not being profitable for them.

plz fold, plz plz plz fold.

I really don't like speculating on someone's financial status and think its nobodies business.

That being said, I remember playing with him in the 3k event at the wsop. He came to the table in between the button and the small blind and the dealer mentioned that he had to wait a hand before being dealt in. At this point he gets sort of upset and starts argueing with the dealer and saying he should be able to post his small blind. I have never seen anyone want so bad to post a blind bet. Maybe he's just so good at poker that he expects to win money from the small blind long term =/.

lol, the amount of stone lies in this thread is hilarious.

Let's start at the beginning, I have never been to AC. Ever. Not even once.

Haven't played 2/5 live anytime in the last year.

"Pretty sure I saw on wickedchops that he was known to indulge fairly frequently in illicit substances, could this be a factor?"  Wtf? I'd like to see a link to this, as I'm pretty sure this is BS that was just made up on the spot.

"I was talking with a few guys in AC and they said he has been backed for that and a couple of live tourneys >1k BI..." I have never been backed for any tournament live or online, ever.

I can't remember ever coming into the SB at the WSOP and arguing with the dealer. Since I've only ever had about 1 argument with a dealer in my whole life, this seems pretty damn unlikely.

And last but not least (though I know no one will believe this), even if I take away my wsop final table and all money made from sponsorship, I am still well in the black for poker lifetime.

This kind of thread is the reason I stopped coming to pocketfives, cept when I want a good laugh at the idiocy.

I see Scott has cleared things up.

Personally Scott, we've never met, nor played together, I had no agenda here or anything, just thought it was strange and wanted to see if anyone could shed light on it... that has taken place, so the thread served its purpose.

Actually saw this happen (didn't actually see MTC's cards).  Soon thereafter MTC folded a set to Vadim Trincher.  Folding an overpair to Scott and a set to Vadim on the same day is statistically about as likely as winning the Sunday Million and FTP 750K on the same day.

true story :(

fwiw i was exaggerating a little and u were totally polite. It did happen tho, I just thought it was wierd that you would want to post blind although there was no good reason to tell the story. My bad..
