I know a lot of people make their living multitabling online cash games. I was wondering if anyone here just single tabled to make their living.

I think it depends on what your view of making a living is. I play $50 buy in sngs mostly, and usually just stick to 1 table at a time. If I really wanted to play 40+ hours a week I could probably avg. $20-$30/hr. That's better than some do in the 9-5 world.
You say you play 1 table at a time, at $50/game. That's probably around 1.5 S&G's per hour for turbos. You say you make ~$25/hour. Let's do some quick ROI math. $50*1.5hours = $75 in buyins per hour. $25 profit/ $75 buyin = 0.33% ROI. I'm sure you can't achieve a 33% ROI in $50 turbo S&G's.
BTW, you said IF you wanted to play 40 hours a week, you'd average $20-$30/hour. You do realize that the only thing that affects your $/hour are the stakes, your roi, and how many you play at once. The amount of hours you play per week has nothing to do with $/hour.

Because a 30% ROI in like a $10 game is $3. That's 1 game at a time. If he plays 24 at a time at 10% ROI that's $24 in the same timeframe.

SNG Only | So I guess $20-$30/hr was a little too high of an estimate given varience, etc. But I still think its attainable. Maybe either playing 1 table $100 buy ins, or 2 $50 buy ins at once.

I average $8/game profit on FTP @ around 13% ROI. I usually play 2 or 3 at once, and I play turbos, so I make the $20/hr that is your target. To obtain this however, you need to be in top 10% of all sng players (check out sharkscope for comparisons to see how you stack up against top tier) and you need to play at least $50 stakes. $100 is better. Disclaimer is I am not a pro, only a part timer, but at around 1,000 games that is a good sample size to know where somebody is at.

Table selection people. A $50 game maybe 2x as profitable than a $500 game depending on who the players are.
Read jhub's blog on table selection.

And yes, to Sigma's point, if you are choosy on tables, this will significantly augment your ROI obv.

lol sample size and variance.
you have no chance to win at this rate over the long term, esp if you are playing 40 hours/week, playing when you are tired, having regs adjust to your game.
seriously, you think 49 sngs means something? some of the top players in the world can have break even streaks playing hundreds or even thousands of these things, how does 49 sngs mean anything?

15% roi is AWESOME if your playing the 60$ turbos. lets say you can play 2 an hour, thats 18 bucks an hour if your like one of the best sng players in the world. your running super good in a 49 game sample, play atleast 1000 to 2000 games and you may have a general idea what your roi is. if you can attain 10% that is great.
