Villain hasn't been out of line at all.. I've seen him open with 88 once and AA flatted and he hit 8 and took pot.. that's it...  leaning towards folding since I'm utg

I don't play these often at all but I was semi active but nothing that tossing a huge raise in here from his position

Help?  Thanks in advance.

I think its a tough spot. Don't know the math but i would guess youre like 40-50 percent vs his range. If you think you have a skill edge at the table i'd find a better spot, but that being said if you jam and win youre looking at a top three finish and thats where the money is. Hate these spots.

I do think I can handle the table here if I fold, and I raised from UTG and I don't think this guy is really capable of making that raise from his spot with worse than JJ.

I know Deoxyribo (what does your name mean deoxy?) has been called a nit on this forum in other threads and he says it's auto jam it in, but I just really am not sure.

Please don't fold this... if you're going to raise fold jj with such short stacks, you set yourself up to get slapped around.  Plus he's not folding anything and there's no way his range is just qq+ak.

To me this is a complete situational play, from the way you describe the villian I probably fold, which is what I think you did also.

You get 3 bet by a guy who basically made an overbet just to make it obvious hes going with his hand, not that tough/sick spot at all.  I'm ranging him no tighter than AJ+ 88+ here; you act like his raise size=strength when it's really irelevant, you guys are <20 bbs deep and this a good spot to get it in.
