Thank you Jen
By andressoprano on 05-05-2008 11:19 AM

I've been playing online poker for over 4 years. I had never had a losing year, with a total profit of 30 to 35K. But, I knew I had leaks, and I couldn't find them by myself. I don't have internet buddies to share HH's with, so I was pretty much stuck.

After 5k+ games on SnG's I had a 10% ROI on Fulltilt, and 12% on Pokerstars, with a total profit of 7k on Fulltilt and -39$ on PS.

Today it's been 4 weeks since I had my first class with Jennifear. This are my SnG stats since then :

Username Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total Profit Form Network Filter
andresoprano            478 $4.68   $11   35% $2,236   - PokerStars <1Mths x
andressoprano            483 $2.55   $10   35% $1,232   - FullTilt <1Mths x

cosign

I sing jens praises whenever I can.Similar story I was a 6% ROI player before my lesson. 3 months after and I have been running at around 60% since then in SNGs. And its also helped my MTT play massively as well.

Guess she didn't teach you guys about variance? It goes both ways.

TY Andres, buffy, and fou

All of you should be proud.  :)

Re:variance

I teach my students to not move up too quickly unless they can describe exactly why they are killing a game, and to focus on decisions, as opposed to results.  Nobody is immune to variance, and I preach this.  Still, it's nice to see good results!  You have earned it Andres!

i hate dumbass posts like these, your graph in the past month is as follows:

first 250 games break even, 250-300 games your graph goes down to -$250 (why are you -$250 300 games after your lessons?)

then you graph shoots straight up from one game, goes down a little more, shoots up again from one more game, then you lose around 450$, the nit shoots up from basically 3 more games, then continues to go down

the numbers look like youve improoved but the graph is far from impressive

my point is just get a copy of SNGPT or SNGWiz and do the work yourself, it will make you much better than lessons from anyone will.

Jen,

Your advice on PD from time to time in the past alone has helped me with my results as well (Especially some of the ones that I've asked).  Though I am not a regular student of yours, I went from being a -35% ROI in MTT's to currently a +78% ROI thanks to some of your advice.

I will sing your praises whenever I can.  You flat out pwn when it comes to good advice.

I can tell you why my graphs are the way they are:

First off, I had hard times adjusting my game to the new gain knowledge. Between PS, Tilt, AP and Hollywood poker I had over 15k SnG games, and to add new tips, tricks, or moves to my style was hard to me. I felt like the golf player  that has to change his swing after years using the same movements. It's hard, and sometimes frustrating.

Second reason it's simple: I'm mainly playing 45+ people SnG's,most of them turbos, which are games with huge variance. What has changed the most on my game it's that now I manage to take down the 180 man SnG's when I make it far. I've made top 4 an important % of times when I cashed, and that was not the case before.

And, I never said my graphs are impressive, but I do believe that a 35% ROI in 1k games between Tilt and Stars it's a very good record with a long enough sample.

Also i forgot to mention that in the last 2 weeks I made 3 final tables on large MTT's :

Took down the 5r Omaha HI/lo on stars( in case you OPR me, it appears like I got second, but that's due to the fact that we chopped, with me getting 60% of the prize. After the chop we just flipped till the game was over), got 5th in the 27$ 25k on stars, and 6th on the 30r at Fulltilt, and every time I felt like Jen lessons helped me to take decisions that helped me to go that deep.

Of course there is people out there, like yourself, who doesn't need feedback , and can manage to become huge winners without any kind of help, but I'm not that smart, so I'm really thankful to Jen, and I consider myself a way better player than I was a month ago.
