$560 buy-in
Deep stack- 25K in chips with 50 min blinds. (2 day event)

-Looking at the structure above.....is this a well structured tourney that will see plenty of play in the later stages or will it be a shove festival.

-How soft do you think the field might be in something like this?

-Any tips...past experiences.....other insight is greatly appreciated

Thank You,
D

For the BI and the amount of play you get this is a pretty good structure. My only comment on the structure would be adding a 250-500 level.

Day one is full of fucking maniacs.  Stay out of their way.  In fact, skip the first 2 to 3 levels.

I saw people shoving all in with flush draws at the 25-50 level the last time they had this.  Talk to the people at your table.  Believe it or not, day one is a sunday and a lot of people play it and know they cannot play on monday.  They start shoving towards the end of their day to have fun.

what kind of thinking is that? if there are weak players, why would you not sit down with them and build a stack early...i never understood that line of thought...?

its borgata, all the rich tourists go there because its the nicest and they are total donators.  50 min blinds will mean tons of play, in fact probably too much for most donkeys, there will definitely be huge pots that shouldnt be as big as they are, and people losing way too many chips with stupid hands they shouldnt be losing that many chips with.

with 50 min levels a solid TAG game should be extremely profitable for most of the tournament.  if your table seems to just fall asleep and stop playing hands at some point then definitely loosen it up but with stacks as deep as they'll be itll require more chips to get someone off a hand.  when it gets late enough in the tournament people will naturally tighten up but for most of it expect a lot of spewing

Ummmmmmmmmmm....why in gods name would u want to stay clear of the maniacs on day 1???  if anythign wouldnt u want to play pots vs these same maniacs??  ur telling me ur gonna skip the first 2-3 levels to avoid palyer shoving all in for 100 BBs + with flush draws???  thats the exact reason u would want to play pots early vs this type of player....

Ty for all the responses I appreciate it!! My plan is to play a solid tag game and hopefully I can pick of some of the weaker players.

Anyone have any idea of how big these events get (# of entries)?
