The New UB Tourney Schedule

So the new changes are out, here are the differences in the evening schedule that I can see;

Added:

5:30pm - $44 Double Stack (3k chips)

7:00pm - $33 Double Stack (3k chips)

7:40pm - $130 Double Stack, $20k guarantee (5k chips)

8:00pm - $10 Sniper with $10k guarantee ($5 is bounty, $5 is prizepool)

9:00pm - $109 Sniper with $40k prizepool ($10 is bounty), $1 turbo rebuy with $5k guarantee

9:15pm - $15 Double Stack (3k chips)

10:00pm - $30 rebuy with $25k prizepool

11pm - $5 turbo rebuy with $10 guarantee, $30 6 seat tourney

Midnight - $60 sniper with $10k guarantee

Removed (off the the top of my head) from approx same time period

a $20 guarantee, a $12 bounty, a $5r with guarantee, the $35 $7k guarantee, the $129 bounty, the 9pm $11 bounty with $4500 guarantee, the $3r, the $109 $9k guarantee and the two $25 guaranteed boutny tourneys, one at 10:30pm other at midnight, and another $5r guarantee.

Overall I'm kinda meh about the whole thing.  You've just kind of shuffled things round, and probably taken out more than you've put in.  I mean i like UB and i've played like 1500 tourneys there, but this new schedule doesn't really do a lot for me.

-  I really like the double stacks, esp the mid stakes one but there are no guarantees on them, so what kind of fields would you get??  100-200 max imo.  Maybe the plan is to give them a couple of weeks to see what the fields are like and then whack guarantees on, but who knows.  Those first two ($30 and $40) are too early for me to play anyway so i won't be in those.  And there's only one double stack ($15) after 8pm which is when a lot of people play - doesn't make much sense to me.

- I think running millions of satellites is good, but would be nice to have option to views tourneys WITHOUT seeing the satelittes, as they take up so much space.

- the rebuys just suck.  There is not a non turbo rebuy under $30 that I can see in this evening schedule (maybe i could see better without those satelittes everywhere).  There was a $3r and two $5r tourneys (although with sucky guarantees) before these changes and now there's nothing.  What's the point of playing a rebuy to get more chips and use your skill edge if you go and make the thing a turbo with 5 minute levels??  Would've been great to see the $5r $10k be non turbo and a $10 rebuy in there as well.  What about a couple of 1 rebuy 1 add on tourneys??

- There's 2 big tourneys, the $10 and $100 sniper ones with good guarantees to obv get players in the door and i think a lot of people will like those, but beyond that there's really not too much to interest me.  I will buy in to probably both of those and anything in between - but there is nothing!!  It looks like Annie has gone, ok $40k guarantee $100 tourney and increased $30 rebuy guarantee for high stakes player, a big $10 guarantee and 2 stupid turbo rebuys for the lower buy in players and there is not much though beyond those.  Don't get me wrong, those tourneys (apart from stupid turbo rebuys) are great, but a 'schedule' is supposed to cater to a range of buy ins at a range of times, not rely on 2-3 big tourneys and not much else.  The cynical side of me thinks those big guarantees will never be met and after a few weeks they will just be dropped down.

Personnally, I will now be playing less tourneys and spending less money on the site, so not sure how great this schedule is.

Oh, and on the website the tourney schedule shows both the new AND the old schedule combined, plus is showing some tourneys twice.  It's retarded stuff like this that UB can't even get right that makes people wonder why they play there.

I don't mean to be a negative prick, but there's just not a lot there to get excited about.  Although I like Annie, I have to agree with brsavage that a high stakes live player does not appear to know what sort of schedule online tourney players want - at any stakes.

whats a sniper tourny?

and if ub doesn't put a guarantee on the 5:30 or 7pm tournies like 50 people will play them tops.

Ya i was hoping for better than this - and the lobby is so cluttered with all the satties.

Oh well.

yep, the $10 'sniper' has $5 for prize pool $5 for bounty.  The $100 has $10 bounty, $90 for prizepool.

there's so many sats they'll be 90 satelitte winners at least, maybe 200-250 ppl i'd guess??

I suppose if those headline tourneys attract new people then the mid stakes double stacks might fill up a bit, but why not chuck a guarantee on, even $8k or $10k or something??

Does anyone elses's internt stop working sometiems when running this shitty aass ssss site?

God i hate UB

UB needs better software/tourneys....and Bodog needs p2p/better cashouts and they'd both be acceptable sites and would rival stars and tilt someday.

UNTIL THEN

PHUCK OFFFFF UB

The absolute best thing IMO about the UB schedule are the rebuys. Yes the prizepool sucks but these are SOOOO weak and that is where I have been making most of my money on the site. I agree remove the turbo from the $5 and that will help, but I would love to see two more added. Another $3 or $5 and a $10-$20 with a decent guarantee would be great IMO. Also bring back the 9pm 200k satellite with 10-25 seat guarantee, but move it to 8pm. Remove anything with ultra turbo super short stack.  The deep stacks are great, that is a good improvement. but with out guarantees on UB they will get probably 35 ppl at the most. I would also like to see a horse tournament in there somewhere, but mostly because I like to pretend I can play more than just NLHE.

But without non-turbo decent rebuys, I honestly have no reason to play on UB, which has been my main site for a few month now.

Next to Bodog, UB used to be my 2nd favorite site.  This was mainly because it was the only other site with midstakes fields under 500 players (lots of times they were under 200 players).

In December of 2006 I was playing there regularly and really enjoying the tourney schedule.  They, as BRSavage mentioned in the other thread, then decided that they wanted to cater to cash game players.  That signaled the end of my playing on UB.

I have patiently waited for them to bring back the $10 - $30 MTT schedule that was friendly to people who actually work and play for fun and not a living.  If UB wants to actually improve their traffic they would be smart to actually think about the player who gets up at 4 or 5am EST.  Believe it or not there are a lot of people like me who would play if they offered something worthwhile to play.

Well done Annie, you have again done nothing for people like me, and I will not be back playing UB anytime soon.  Bounty tourneys stink, I don't give a crap about anything over $100 bucks (pretty much on any site).

There are more recreational players in the world than "pros," when UB figures that one out, perhaps we will see some tourneys that actually make sense to play.

GL Annie, you'll need it.

After quickly perusing the new schedule for monday I see that most of the new feeders are short stack or mega short stack . Why the hell would anyone in their right mind want to play these? The feeders on UB in the past have always been pretty good value and had a manageable structure for a good player to qualify for higher tournies and to make some money by winning seats more than once. This bullshit isn't worth anyone's time at all except for the weak player who has no bankroll to hopefully play a higher buyin by getting extremely lucky. If I wanted to pray for a miracle then I'd be playing to lottery, slots or any other casino game besides poker. I'm looking for deeper stacks where skill plays more of a part in the game than luck. These 500 and 100 chip tournaments are an absolute joke and I can't believe that they are even going to be added to the schedule.

I agree, the $1 $5 rebuy seems sweeet, but it starting at 9pm and with the amount of chips in it, im sure it will run all night. I will be  stuck only playing this on weekend because I work. In addition to your point on the mid buy in tournament player not getting any love, I would love to see a WSOP promo taylored to the mid buyin tourney player. Something maybe based on a points system within each buy in. Like say top 100 in TLB points at buyin between $5 - $20 getting put into a satellite to main event. When it is run off strictly UB points the big cash game players are the one who will have the best shot at it.
