i owe a lot to pocketfives and probably haven't given much back as of late so here goes. for those unaware i will steal mig's explanation, originally stolen from assasinato:
A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except Tuesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer." The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down, "Why not on Tuesday?" A voice from in the well shouts back, "Because on Tuesday, it's your day in the well."
So yeah, essentially, in this thread, I'll answer any question you have about playing professionally, the game, myself, or any random question you have that might not even to do with poker.
i will try to be as honest as possible and not sugar coat stuff. okay ask away bros

What's next after college?
gongoraaa. i graduated last year and am just playing cards now. i was never able to give poker 100% attention because of school so that's what i'm doing now.
How long do you see yourself playing for a living?
online grinding maybe 3-5 years tops. this shit is not a healthy lifestyle. but i'll probably be playing the occasional live tourney til im an old man.
Any business ideas you got in mind?
before i found poker i was like 90% sure i wanted to go into restaurants. my dad and brother are in that field but i've never really thought about it much since i started playing cards.
Me and rook have an open room in the house, it's yours for free this summer if u want it btw
will def be by to chill
One last question...kobe beef at seablue next time ur in town?
i miss dragonfly

Wow, thanks for doing this. What are some things in live poker that you do differently then online??? What are some adjustments that I should be making... etc etc... Thanks!
i'm probably not the best person to ask, 0 for my last 15 or so in liveaments.... but i was thinking about my play and where i went wrong and realized i have to slow it down. i see 4 or 5 old guys at the table and theyre limping and chatting it up, i just can't help myself. way too fancy play syndromish and trying to win every pot, no regard for my image etc because im not respecting my opponents...
like in the 100r i play so much smarter because im aware of my surroundings and what people are capable of. here i feel like they arent capable of much so i run dumb moves and the like. i think if you just play a smart solid tag style live you can probably crush with all the mistakes everyone else is making.

If you were to start all over at your most basic of poker experience and understanding w/ a $500 bankroll and a month to dedicate to learning the game....
What books/training sites/online sites or games would you invest your time and money in to get to winning money and crushing MTT
the best way to learn is by putting in the time. training sites are great but theres no subsitute for experience and the thousands of hands you see. before the days of training sites you would just pull up the great players and try to study what they were doing. i remember pulling up guys like bax, foshio, actionjeff in the 100r and going over the hands they'd show down.

Another New Jerseyan in the house! Two questions: 1. Ever think about moving into the city? 2. Eva Mendes or Rosario Dawson?

I'm gonna be selfish and ask you what you think of my game...
BTW, I think you're one of the few with unreal results out there that actually isn't overrated..

*Steve, I have the utmost repect for you as a poker player and a person. Your results keep me inspired showing me how good the best players are. You mention above that you see yourself grinding for another 3-5 years online... meaning your looking to eventually shift from poker to the business world in 3-5 years and play poker only casually? I've always questioned how long I want to and can be in this business as well and I definetely dont see myself doing it long term either. At the PCA this year after busting i looked around the room and just thought shit there's about 100 capable guys of winning this damn tourney here. Do you think the edge in this game is continually shrinking and will continue to shrink making it less and less profitable for us? Any thoughts on how I can improve my game/plug some leaks off the top of your head? Going to LAPC main event? Keep up the domination bro, always routing for ya..

If you only had $100 to deposit, what games would you play to build your bankroll? Also, what site would you play on? Thanks

I feel like I'm at the point in my poker career where I am almost
above and beyond the skill set to crush midstakes, and feel like I'm
somewhat close to becoming a well respected player that can beat
highstakes.. However, when people look at my stats they can see I
haven't made as much money as maybe I should, because whenever I get a
roll I play highstakes as much as possible.. I talk to some of the best
poker minds in the world, but What can I personally do to improve
myself as a poker mind on a daily basis? Anyways what Im really asking
is how/when does it come to the point where you feel like you have an
edge on most other Regs, what mentality does this entail and how can
you reach this state of mental bliss? I feel like I play pretty
terrible against really good regulars in the higherstake tournaments,
but it comes to to my mentality I think. When did you get to the point
in your career that your mentality towards other regulars changed? What
adjustments do you make to beat regs that play too aggressively or Too tight?
Thoughts on: S00tedj0kers, CardsharkChemist, The Maven, Cr8ive, Dipthrong, wretchy, sketchy1, mendieta, and DJK( sorry if thats too many answer as many as u can)
Assuming
im a top 500 tournament player on the internet(intellectually, which
may be an unfair assumption, I really don't know.) If you were to make
it your personal goal to mentor me how long would it take for a player
like myself to gain an understanding of the game that the top 25
tournament players on the internet have(have you ever done something
similar taken a player of medium skill level and turned him into a
superstar?)
What is the difference between me(skill level) and
you as a pokerplayer? What do you think you do much better then someone
of my skill level? What parts of our games do you think may be not too
different. What im saying is like if Im able to beat up to a certain
level in tournaments, but say cant beat the 100r or the 1k, what things
do you think someone of that caliber does almost just as well as other
good regulars(not just you personally) just people of your skill level?
Or even people just in the top 100. Does it even work like that?
most
of the people in here dub themselves "solid players", I however dub
myself as a lagtard, who spews way more then he should. I feel like I
have a good Offense in Poker but a Bad Defense, what can I do to change
this? What aspects of my game can I focus on to have a more well
rounded style, with different gears to my game? Does Offense Wins
games, defense wins championships relate to Poker? If so elaborate..

when you first started hitting final table scores from an initial deposit... did you keep that money in to pad your roll to move up in stakes? Or was it a slow grind of many FTs that built up your BR slowly?
i was lucky to have no real expenses at the time so i just kept it in and moved up accordingly.

Whenever I play MTT 1500 starting 10/20 blind tourneys, I'm a low stakes player. I play really tight the first 2 stages. Then I start opening up and raising more hands. But it seems that I can't get any good cards and if I do get good cards some donk hits with his/her overcard. What advice can you give me about starting and mid stages of these types of tournaments? Should I start playing a little looser earlier and raise a little more often in Late position?
Also how many tournaments did you not cash before you started cashing and winning at a regular basis? And does watching the top pros on a regular basis really help improve a person's game by a lot?
