Very early in the 70k gtd, no reads, and villain is not in my dB so we've never played. This is the 1st hand I have played, maybe 2 orbits in. Had a chance to OPR Mcmatto beforehand, and see he's a solid winning player. He has to consider me a random.
I don't mind how I played this, just looking for outside perspective on my line, and maybe some thoughts as to how he found a call here...
Thx ;-)

These two phrases trouble me.
As for the hand you should have just check/called the flop and probably folded to a turn bet.

I'm not clear....do you disagree that after he calls the turn bet I only have 2 options? And having chosen to shove, he somehow felt his 9's were good and made the call - I personally didn't think my line looked like I had a hand that 9's beat (obviously I'm biased there), so it's fair to give him credit where due. the_snail03: |   |

Doesn't C/C OOP look way more like a flush draw than C/R? And in that event isn't he way more likely to fire a 2nd barrel? And being OOP I can't be raising in an effort to take a free card on the turn, so I know I have to be prepared to fire again. In reality C/F flop (at least to me) would be better than the C/C line on the flop when I intend to fold the turn like 95% of the time Just my thoughts, wouldn't mind if you elaborated a bit on your response....

Basically you talked about value shoving and then you're talking about how did he call me with nines!!!
You tried to shove for value and as a bluff? that makes no sense.

when he said value shove he put it in quotations because he meant that he would either shutdown or make a shove that is supposed to look like a value shove but is in fact a bluff.
Like snail said, you should just c/c flop and fold turn, what you did was basically get into a huge pot trying to make a hero bluff early in a tournament when there was really no reason to do so. by the river youre hand is either AA/KK that did'nt reraise preflop, or a bluff, and since there are more combinations of bluffs than AA/KK, he called.
