I don't think villain is great, but I've seen his name around before.
He called my 4b preflop very quickly. The 3 bettor is an unknown/rando
and insta folded.
Flop check seems standard, as played what's your plan here for turn/river?

Just flat the 3 bet with your image. Pretty much everyone I know would snap fold KK to your 4 bet. You are WAYYYY too nitty to get any action vs almost anyone here...
Weird, I 3b and 4b more than 95% of regs in the early stages of mtts. (And also 3b/4b less than majority of regs deep in mtts).

Flatting the 3bet the first time around is a big mistake IMO. I'd seriously rather 4bet and turn my cards over than flat the 3bet.

I mean I agree with what you're saying, but if he's not c/f on the flop hes prob not c/f on almost any turn either. Also I'm pretty sure majority of mtt regs would disagree strongly with you on what your perception of my image is.
So you're suggesting they think you are a retarded spewmonkey?
Frank you really seem to have trouble grasping the fact that people suck at poker, and not everyone is a 2+2 nitbot, and you seem to take offense when someone thinks you are tight/solid, I just don't get it tbh.

I don't see how it can be a "big mistake"

I don't think anyone thinks I'm a retarded spewmonkey but I am also quite confident that nobody thinks I'm a nit unless they don't pay attention or haven't played with me much. I guess I shouldn't say anything though tbh. I kind of wish more people would think of me like you.

Well you'd have to be pretty retarded to 4 bet light in this spot, even most loose players would show up with a very tight range, so maybe you missed my point. Regardless, I'm over this thread/hand.

Obviously, but your friend mattg seems to think that I shouldn't 4b AA solely because of my image, and that someone more aggro could do this even though even more aggro players aren't magically 4b lighter here. (matt is of course wrong).

DFISH FRANK IS A LAG OK? HE'S NOT SOME NITBOX FOLDING EVERY HAND TILL HE GETS ACES LIKE YOU. LAG = GOOD, TIGHT/SOLID = NITBOX LOSING PLAYER. obviously.
what don't you get???

yeah someone needs to lock this thread, heh. IMHO we shouldn't be considering a flat ever when someone we've classified as not good (according to OP) has cold-called. i don't understand how so many people have given him so much credit in this thread for going to play perfectly post flop against AA etc when all the information on him that we have is that we've seen him around but he isn't good. it's dicey value when we are probably playing OOP deep to a tough player and someone else who is probably setmining when 4betting reduces variance and is likely to be way more profitable given that a not good player has already announced he likes his hand pre. people do spew off in mtts, even 1ks. granted, if we know this player is a hs sng reg, pretty much all my comments in this thread are void.

Wow, I mean seriously Andy, u cannot be this much of a douch. I sincerely try to make an elaborated post trying to put into words my thoughts on some hard spots that appear in high buy-in Mtts, instead of the usual "bet flop with intention of getting it in" post, and u suggest me to stop typing for the purpose of sounding smart???.....
I know everyone knows poker is situational etc., and that SOME generalisations are required for discussions sake, but some of you tend to generalise too much when you dont think the OP or someone who made a comment is a smart or very capable player. I can assure you my post is far more constructive than saying "be straightforward and bet the flop". And seriously fk off if you think Im trying to sound smart, I barely post in this forum man, and when I sincerely try to give input I get this from a condescending clown???...I mean wtf. Its not even like Im not a reg, and I wasnt making a very complicated comment, I just remarked upon the fact that checking that flop has a justification and will make you money longterm against various types of players.......god

Oh, and fyi Frank never classified villan as not good, he said that since hes seen him aroud he assumes he is decent but prolly not great, which is different, so basicly your last post is worthless. I really hate these internet donkfights in forums and pretty much dont care what anyone thinks of me or my opinions, but serioulsy man, ur a sik player but never knew you could be so douchy.....its kind of lol actually if u think about it....gl

heh, you had a flat out crack at 99nvrloses because you assumed from his post his poker knowledge was very simplistic and went on to write a super long patronizing paragraph telling him all about how poker is a complicated game when that was completely uncalled for. whatever bro, don't dish it if you can't take it. /lock thread

ok guys...i think we've beat this topic to death. Just let the thread die imo. Frank asked for advice...he got it. Most prefer a bet on the flop..End thread. All these silly shots at others games and judging their poker knowledge or lack thereof is just silly. Leave the egos at the door gentlemen...I mean we are talking about MTTs for christs sakes...most of which have shallow stacks and quick structures...put most mtt players in a 500bb cash game and watch them lose their shirt off their backs...I mean shyt...I think I could teach my 4 yr old how to win a mtt.
In any event...there is a lot of good analysis and discussion in this thread if you can wade thru all the bs.
