This is a balsy move to get chips without showdwn and he makes it look like he has no fold equity so if he is pushed overtop he knows he's beat. He prob went with his read and put djalminha on Ak or 99 tt (who knows). I find the move fascinating and his post flop play really throws ppl off.

The dude is awfull and he is an angle shooting POS.  I have seen him on multiple  occasions act like he doesn't understand a word of English until he is clearly in need of something.  Mark my words.  He will give all his money back and more.  Just don't expect it to happen this week.

does his last paragraph just smell of jealousy and hatred?????  this statement here just prooves just how UNobjective these high stakes MTT players are being.... what on earth does this have to do with anything?  Ship happens is one of the most inhumane players ive seen at the tables, calling people absolutely everything in the book.......but is he a great poker player? NO DOUBT.

Additionally, IMO, i think that sample size leaves more to debate in determining if a player with bad stats may actually be good than determining if a player with good stats may actually be bad. for example, if a good player plays 500 tournies and has been a victim to bad variance, and shows bad ROI, top 3 percentage, etc etc., he is more likely to be a good player than a player with 500 tournaments who has had had numerous HUGE victories, great ROI, Incredible top 3 percentage is of being a bad player. This is partly because to consistently win tournaments, you have to be able to close, and when closing you are playing the tougher players....

like i said before, a bad player may get lucky once, lightning could strike twice, but to have 4 MAJOR online wins, and several other major top threes, something hes doing is currently working.

The ideal goal of a poker player should be to maximize results while minimizing variance. If you can acheive an roi either with high variance or low variance why would you not acheive that roi with low variance, that would be better.

Vietcong01's style is obviously HIGH variance whether or not it is a strategy with a positive roi expectation. If it was a low variance style, then he is kicking all of our asses, gg sirs.

I also believe that strategies with high variance are capable of pulling off higher roi's, not saying that this is vietcong01 though.

I love this post

I've thought about this too.....

I agree... good players are not willing to go all in with 1.5X average stacks or higher unless
they feel they are a 70/30 favourite
vietcong feels that the only way to get a chiplead is to take those odds (30/70)
and hope to get lucky, because if he does, then he's got a massive chip lead
and wins the tourney (182k and all his other scores?)

I never felt that using long term expectation theory in critical points in tourneys
ever accounted for the fact that if you win, you win so much
and think about the image you get while doing this (as someone else in this thread pointed out)
now you get paid on all your hands in all future tournaments.
what about that long term expectation?

the fact is everyone is a by the book player now, the only way to get chips
is to shake them up and fuck with their head
acting like a retard is +EV if you do it the right way at the right time
i think the extent to which you skillfully manage that, gets you results like
vietcong and pissed off people like ship, which is what you'd be trying to exploit
in the first place

EDIT: ok I just read all the posts above me and all of this has been said already
you people are smart :)
