What kind of mouse do you use?

I have the mx revolution. Ive been using it for about 6 months now. Its a wireless mouse. But sometimes it skips and seems to be somewhat unreliable. Especially when multi-tabling.  Im looking into getting a new one.

FWIW try unplugging it from a USB hub and plugging it directly into your computer.  I have a mx revolution I've noticed much less skipping after switching.  Also make sure you're drivers are up-to-date.

Razer Lachesis here..  It goes up to 4000 dpi, I don't know of a mouse that's higher. I think the logi gaming/laser mouse is something like 800 max or even less. If you have dual large monitors this thing's a beauty. Takes some getting used to on 4000 but it's bad ass once you're used to it.

I have the next one up (I think) from this one and of all the mice I have used, hands down the best one I have ever owned!  It says it's for laptops, but I use it on my PC and totally addicted to it.  I hate using other's systems now because the mouse feels so awkward for me.  The one thing I am thoroughly impressed about is I can stand at the other side of the room with it and this one still works.

VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

have that same piece of shit.  Its not very precise imo.  like when fast multitabling and i have to grap a screen by the size to minimize it,  it seems not precise and skippy and i just dont like it.  ive found mice with cords for a desktop are the shit.  no changing of batteries at unoportune times and better control and precision

^^ This...had it for a year and only replaced the batteries like twice while using it every day.  It's small-ish while fitting very nicely in your hand, and I've never had precision issues

I use a microsoft sidewinder X8. It is by far the best mouse I have ever used. But I am not a hardcore gamer so before this mouse I was just using some old laser mouse.

The DPI dickwaving contest that mouse manufacturers got into is really not a useful thing at all. It's just marketing hype to try and sell mice to pc gamers. I daresay 4000 DPI just means you'll need to install the drivers to lower it (or just lower your windows slider) because for most people playing for reasonable amounts of money, having a twitchy mouse is the last thing you want.

A Microsoft 1.1a or any early Logitech mouse like a 510 is just fine.

I personally have an Evoluent vertical mouse and a Microsoft 3.0 (the new edition) for games.

Logitech Trackball.
Can't imagine ever having to use a regular mouse again.

logitech mx air mouse...pretty nifty, can be used as standard wireless mouse or as a pointer in the air

Yeh logitech for me too. Small enough to fit inside your hand without over-streching your hand span.

Btw for those peps having problems with carpal tunnel, what do you think about resting the mouse on a firm cushion instead of on a mouse pad on a hard desk? I've been doing this for a year now, it isn't as fast as on a pad but if you up the speed of the pointer, the speed and control issues are minimal imo and waaaaaaaaaay more comfortable. I never had a problem with aches and strains but adopted this method as a preventative and thus far have not had even the slightest problem.
