$15+1 9-man turbo SNG on Pokerstars, 8 players remaining. Prizes are 67.50/40.50/27.00
I had a disagreement with a friend about this hand, and I want your opinion. The disagreement wasn't about how to play the hand, but rather about how most people would play it.
Seat #2 is the button Seat 1: URanIDIOT (1255 in chips) Seat 2: brakin1 (2910 in chips) Seat 3: Hero (1250 in chips) Seat 5: Villain (1670 in chips) Seat 6: pitharchi (2280 in chips) Seat 7: RobeConDa (1155 in chips) Seat 8: Texas_Til (1405 in chips) Seat 9: NessX (1575 in chips) Hero: posts small blind 50 Villain: posts big blind 100 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [3h Kh] pitharchi: folds RobeConDa: folds Texas_Til: folds NessX: folds URanIDIOT: folds brakin1: folds Hero: ??
What I would like to know from you is:
A. How would you play this hand? B. How would you expect a random player to play this hand?
Have fun!
*EDIT* The disagreement has been resolved. Feel free to give your opinions anyway, and for my take on this hand/results of disagreement, see page 3 of this thread

Jen,
Is this a turbo or non turbo sng?
|
|
|

It's a turbo....
a) I'm shoving almost every time
b) I think the average player at this level limps 30% of the time, raises 3x the blinds 30% of the time, folds 20% and shoves 20%

It would depend on what I anticipated the BB's calling range to be. If he was a tight player all the way to a normal player, I would shove with no thought. If he was on the looser side and like to make weak calls in the BB, I fold.
I would bet the vast majority of $16 turbo SnG grinders now would shove here 80-90% of the time.

A. Push or fold depending on the table dinamic. Pushing more then folding though.
B. Random players would limp 50%, fold 25% and raise to 3 bb's 25%.

Most players shove here. I do not know anyone that wouldn't shove a suited K with 12 bb.

Sure you do, LFL. They're just not all that good at turbo SNGs, IMO.

With 12.5 BB in that position i'm shoving.
At the $2-$12 buy in level I play, I would see a lot of players fold that, or raise 2x and then fold to a reraise.

A) fold B) flat or 3x Really depends on how the table is playing

Id give him a walk most times.

me - im raising this to 250 like 85% of the time folding 15% depending on BB
random - id say they fold about 45% limp 45% raise 10%

shove. And I don't think it matters if it's a turbo or not. i'm no sng player but the shove seems standard. I think graps answered part b
I think the only way wouldn't shove this is if I knew the player was not a restealer and folded too much. Then I might mix in 2-3x, but in a trubo I suspect that is probably not optimal.
