Obv a relative with a puter', everyone knows darvin doesn't have a computer. He said so. He has never even been on one before! Dudes a trip but good for him I guess. I hope his bank accepts the check. (btw Oakland Maryland >>> Oakland Cali. Deep Creek Lake is awesome! The ski Hill of Wisp: not so much.)

Wicked Chops has an interview with Cada and he says when he got the 9th place money he got rid of his backers.  Quess he bought them out or whatever?  Maybe he got to keep more than we thought.

Haha, wouldnt that be nice.  How does one get rid of a back when they finally hit a million dollar payday?

I think you're a little off here.  When he made the final table he got ~1.2M, which in turn then gave his backers their cut and took his.  Therefore he was instantly bankrolled and at that point started playing on his own online or live or whatever he was playing, at least that is how I took it (and realistically what he had to mean).

For the Main Event specifically I am fairly certain that his backers still had his action lol.

Thoughts:

i didnt not like the way CADA played (the hands we saw).  he got insanely lucky twice by hitting his underpair and i think he got outplayed HU...

Also think MOON played horribkle.  I think he switched gears to get much more aggressive, like Dennis did last yr.  the thing is when he OVER SHIPS on a raise he haS NO DAMN IDEA WHERE HE STANDS...Instead of a proper 3 Betting he just shoves like 40 million in, its was horrid every damn time...

The french men played the best, by far, and if it wasnt for a 2 outer, he woulda TID...Begs played very well also

As someone who plays for a living and constantly has to explain to people who dont play that poker is a game of skill, this wsop final table didnt do much to help our case. Cada played really bad/spewy and ran like god. Seemed like the best hand hardly held at the final table for anyone. Was pretty embarrassing for poker players.

havent read any of the thread.  but i cant believe this helps poker move forward at all. it was entirely get it in, lets gamble.  worst hand won the majority of the time.  wheres the skill.

any monkeys left out in the open and were influenced by this are a minority. this was a disgusting display of get it in bad and anyone can win. cada got more lucky than i dont know whats going on.  darvin was just insane over aggressive.

just overall disappointed by this table, this cant be good for poker overall.  the entire final table was just straight up horrible beats.

Soooo many benefits if either Saout or Moon win. Woulda brought so many positives to the poker community.
The only players I didn't want to win were Buchman and/or Cada. Absolutely nothing positive will come to the poker community from Cada winning ME.
If anything it may deter certain potential players that feel online and poker in general is being over ran by aggressive young players that they feel they have no chance against.
Woulda been much better to have an influx of Darvin Moons or french players on the felts.

no offense but i think your whole post is off-base. i dont see what good you think is going to come from darvin moon winning 8.5 mil and then disappearing - that wouldnt come from him getting 2nd. we've already had the everyday nobody who won a satty ship the ME in moneymaker so i don't think moon winning would have had some huge effect, and the little effect it would have had probably isnt all that diminished by him getting 2nd. i don't think too many loggers are sitting around saying "eh, if darvin won i woulda tried to learn the pokers but since he lost i wont"

saout winning would have been nice in france but i don't think it would have done much for poker in america since his english isn't that good. and again, he still got 3rd which is a pretty big deal, look what demidov did for poker in russia and he didnt win either.

cada will at least continue to be seen around the tournament circuit - something moon wouldnt have done - and help promote pokerstars. hopefully he will inspire a lot more young 20 somethings to take up the game and help feed the poker economy for years.

It's not like some politician was ever going to watch this WSOP broadcast and be like "OMGZ, LIKE THIS IS SO SKILL AND STUFF".

This won't change anything, but it wouldn't have changed anything at all in their minds even if Ivey won it.  That's just a false fantasy that people had.

Moon shocked me in HU and the Final Table in General.  Cada almost had the biggest HU meltdown in history, Moon played Okay HU but the important thing is that Moon lost the HU, Cada did not win it.

Ok thoughts on these 2 lists.

best players at the FT:

1. Ivey
2. Buchman
3. Akenhead
4. Cada
5. Saout
6. Schaffel
7. Shulman
8. Begleiter
9. Moon

Players who played the most impressive final table (obv harder for the lower ranked ones because they weren't around long enough, so just the 2 who most impressed all table long)

1.  Saout
2.  Buchman

These guys clearly played the best game at the FT in the long run, had a plan, and made generally great decisions.  Poor Saout was a 2-outer away from a ginormous CL against moon after generally running the table over, and was also the only player at the FT who actually folded in a huge pot when he was behind (darvin's amazing math extravaganza aside.

Players who lie to their wives the best

1. Moon.  That was awesome

Honestly, given his admitted shortcomings as a player relative to the rest of the table, I thought Moon played much better heads up than anything Saturday night indicated was possible... Cada was reeling for a a long time.

If moon limp re-raises those queens pre, he doubles, right?

Also, the biggest hand of the tourney turns out to be that hand where Ivey donkfolded the flush... if he has those extra chips, he makes a smaller raise and Cada shoves TT into his KK, right?

Thoughts?

Doubt Ivey folding that flush was a big enough pot to make a difference. Also, the way Cada ran I doubt you want to run into his tens there. He's obviously going to flop quads.
