I completely understand all the negatives from a pure poker standpoint, however this is a good move from several different angles...
1. This will certainly increase interest in the Main Event and thus poker in general...good for all of us right?
2. Any "unfair" advantages of reviewing previous play of opponents will be equally enjoyed by all players at the final table.
3. The people who make the final table will enjoy endorsements that will compensate them more than they'll probabably make from the payouts (with the exception of the top 2 or3 spots)
So...More exposure for poker, more money for the players at the final table sounds like a win win to me...
The only valid concern is the chance of outside circumstances that would prevent someone from being able to play the FT...
