This is good for poker imo.  I must have heard Jerry Yang won the main event 1000 times before i saw it on TV.  Will make it alot more interesting to watch not knowing who is going to win.

 If I made the final table i would have to hire bodyguards.....could you imagine...IIRC jamie gold had death threats leading up to the final table.

And that could get quite costly for 4months.  I think it took til 5th place last year to earn 1mil..and after taxes and body guards (probably tax deductable) you aren't gonna have much left

could you imagine being crippled on the final table bubble with like 2 bbs and having to come back months later?

If I were crippled with 2 BB's I would tell ESPN to fuck off and not show up or do interviews.

Seriosuly, what is so damn important they need 4 months to shoot random shit about the players. A month? two weeks? 

I understand the reasoning for this, but I obv. dont agree.  This sucks.

Heaven forbid the chipleader at the FT gets into a car wreck and dies 3 sometime in October.  This is the DUMBIST thing I have ever heard.  And the fact that J. Chan supports this makes me have NO respect for him.

Harrahs and ESPN ran by money, they could careless about poker players and whats best for game.  The part that its like the supper bowls is so stupid one week would be fine but 4 months is a joke.  I had plannned on playing  but now will not, I guess the best part is I dont have to be in Vegas in July now.  No thought was put into this at all just greed.

So the WSOPE will be finished before the WSOP?

And for those of you who said it suits any pros left are wrong.  Some luckbox who donks his way through will have 3 months of top class coaching and come out a wayyyy different player. 

the pros and good players will not be much different, but the bad players left will definitely get a lot better in that time.

OMG how long would that 3 months be if you were one of those players???  You couldn't even play online, everyone be stalking you and stuff.  this is the GHEYEST IDEA EVER.

Most people hit the main points why this sucks:

The Blind Off: if the person does not show, his stack will be blinded off.  What if that person dies?? just doesn't seem right here.

Security Issue: What if there is another guy who makes the final table that everyone seems to hate i.e Jamie Gold, Jerry Yang? That player could definetly receive threats and so forth with the potential of being seriously harmed.  Blackmail, kidnapping, family safety, etc...

Money, Money, Money: Seems like ESPN and Harrahs are very greedy to get a LIVE tv final table which will be the first big one of our day for the ME.  It should draw tons of viewing from around the globe and that is what they are obv banking on.

 The Player who made the FT: These players will change a lot; get big heads and be hyped in the media.  Also, is it fair for them to get months of practice and coaching?? because they would not have this if the tourney played out the way a standard tourney went.

I am with the rest of you....STUPID imo

TV ratings> what's good for the players/purety of the game.

Fair enough, ESPN pays for the tournament to be put on not the players........oh wait.
