If this is going to happen,it ridiculous. The thing that makes the wsop great is not only getting through the huge field, but also playing all those long days in a row......waiting a few months is horrid,IMO.

I don't understand why they just can't sequester the final table.  Only allow each player to have 1-2 people watch.  Everyone signs a confidentiality aggreement including press that are allowed to be there. Viola, nobody knows the result ahead of time, final table edited for TV.  ESPN can bring in the players for a live show similar to Survivor.  Win-Win for everyone.

Think about all the possible collusion and coaching that can go on.  So many possible problems that could go wrong.  At least now maybe they can straighten out the chips in play that Men the Master's crew always distorts

If I make FT and have to miss the South Carolina vs. Arkansas game, I'm gonna be severely pissed.

If the biggest problem I had on that day was missing a football game due to having millions of dollars to win, I think I'd be pretty fucking happy.

Even worse...what if Norman Chad dies!!!?!?!?!?  That would really mess things up for them.

Fine, they want to delay the FT a bit, but 117 days???!!!! How about 2-4 weeks? That seems much more reasonable.

If i was Phil Ivey and made the final table i wouldnt sleep good at nights. I think everyone should make a huge boooooooooooooooooooooooo when tourney starts and protest this rid idea. I know this will only happen once and i hope poker will survive this.

You guys should prob think about this for a little bit before saying "ZOMG THIS ISN'T HOW IT'S USUALLY DONE I HATE IT!!!!!"

This is probably going to be a great thing for poker.  They wouldn't change schedules around unless it meant it's going to get big ratings, which means a lot of people watching it, which means more new players playing poker in 2009.

I don't care that 9 people have to wait a couple of months (with 9th place money in their pockets, btw) to play out the FT.  ESPECIALLY since that now gives them 3 months to acquire sponsorship deals instead of the night before deals that are usually made.  And, unless the WSOP changes their rules again, players should still be able to wear as many patches as they want.  Poker players looking like NASCAR cars = VERY good for poker.

I'm guessing Phil Ivey sleeps fine.  Beds made of money are comfortable...

such an obv terrible idea, although it gives the amateur types a def advantage over any pros that make it there. Be nice to be able to watch the video coverage of your opponents playing before you have to play them at the FT. I suppose the pros get that too and prob would be able to formulate a game plan better than the ams though, so who knows.  I don't think the concept of someone being incapacitated between making it and playing it is so far fetched. Hell, is Rahme still alive?
