WTF? pokershare
By darbong on 11-01-2005 5:45 PM

Dear ***** ****,

We would like to thank you for being a member of PokerShare.  We are writing to inform you that due to a policy change as of November 1, 2005 North American residents are no longer able to play in the PokerShare cardroom.

We have closed your account, DMFW.  If you had a cash balance in your account we have initiated a withdrawal for you to refund these monies in full.  Along with your cash balance we have converted any Tournament Entry Chips (TECs) and included them in the withdrawal of funds.

If you are owed money, you will be receiving a check in full for your entire account balance to your address on file.  Balances in excess of $500 have been sent by FedEx.  Smaller balances have been sent by regular mail.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely

Robert

I don't want my money in the mail 2 months from now.  I want it in my Neteller account tomorrow.  F this.

Oh dear God, I just got that as well.

This is worst case scenario.  I'm trying to find out more now.

one odd thing is that the email domain

"ecom-arts.com" is not a valid website....

This is a freaking joke. I spent all that time trying to earn as many "Share Points as I can, and ended up spending a lot of money, also because of PocketFives recommendation and how closely they were working with BEANIE and who else ever. I am assuming we won't even get rewarded for the Share Points that we have already earned. this is an ABSOLUTE joke, and the only reason I did it also is because of the Freeroll through Pocketfives which I guess I can't play anymore either. I mean seriously, I think this site just conned everyone...

EDIT
Was referring to pokershare.com in the con job, not pocketfives....

It was kind of to be expected, though wasn't it.  pokerSHARE means we owned a piece of it.  This is of course illegal here in the states.  Thank you Alan for your advice to stay away. I wish I had listened.

Glad it is only $290.......

hmmm..i wonder how much arbirtrary (mahatma) had on his pokershare account...and i wonder how pissed he is.

i hope this is not a scam...i had quite a bit locked up in pockershare...although it does say that they will fed ex cheques to any amount over 500, that should only take a week.

gl all

This is exactly why I dont play on UB or Pokershare. EVERY other site is offering new and improved features (Stars Deepstacks, Dise increasing the no. of regular tourneys etc...) and all UB ever seems to do is fuck up and piss off the people who pay their bills! Unreal.

That said I hope all affected by this get everything thats owed to them back ASAP.

I'm glad I got sick of PokerShare and transferred all my funds over to Stars 2 weeks ago =O
