Dear ***** ****,

We would like to thank you for being a member of PokerShare.  We are writing to inform you that due to a policy change as of November 1, 2005 North American residents are no longer able to play in the PokerShare cardroom.

We have closed your account, DMFW.  If you had a cash balance in your account we have initiated a withdrawal for you to refund these monies in full.  Along with your cash balance we have converted any Tournament Entry Chips (TECs) and included them in the withdrawal of funds.

If you are owed money, you will be receiving a check in full for your entire account balance to your address on file.  Balances in excess of $500 have been sent by FedEx.  Smaller balances have been sent by regular mail.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely

Robert

I don't want my money in the mail 2 months from now.  I want it in my Neteller account tomorrow.  F this.

I got the same email about acct closed, then another e-mail from UB verifying I'm in the pocket5"s freeroll.  Am very steamed at the shoddy treatment.  Looks to me they did this to prevent people who have UB acct from also having one @ pokershare.  So, they migrate my freeroll registration to UB. Not going to say how I feel about  UB now, cause I don't want to type all those cuss words.  peace out Kat

pretty bizzare, since they know the majority of people know how to withdraw from the site. Why not stop our ability to play but allow us to transfer to neteller?

Ill conceived and poorly executed-shows you these sites make too much money and don't follow proper and basic business regulation. There should have been a legal opinion by international attorneys prior to this site ever was started-very basic and common stuff for large business.

I am sorry and maybe somebody can fill me in. I am not a member of pokershare...But I am at a loss trying to figure out why people are Bitching about UB as if this is there fault? If pokershare is the one who shut down and is making it difficult to get your money out of your account..How is that UB's fault???? Can someone please explain this to me???? Seems to me the blame needs to go elsewhere..and it ain't UB this time!!!

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that Howard & Co. only own the software company that created FullTilt's software.  So they technically don't own a gambling operation.  But I'm sure they've arranged it so that they get...well compensated.

Yep. I had a bad feeling about Pokershare from day one; it just had a bad smell about it all along - how it just suddenly popped up over night, the wierd restrictions on not transferring money, how you were still actually playing the same site ,etc etc. - it just never made any sense to me that a site (UB) would do this, knowing that if it worked as promised, no one would continue on UB. I opened an account but never put any money in it.

And if they were going to shutdown like this, why not warn everyone first so they could opt to withdraw instead of just suddenly locking up everyone's money? (it will be interesting to see how long it takes for those checks to come through)

It was pushed pretty hard too *cough*P5*cough* - did anyone first hear of Pokershare somewhere other than P5? I never heard a whisper of it until it was posted here.

Somebody's got some 'splainin' to do .......

Hope everyone gets their money.

Why not just change your addresses on your accounts, you will still get it sent to your neteller or firepay.
