Dear ***** ****,
We would like to thank you for being a member of PokerShare. We are writing to inform you that due to a policy change as of November 1, 2005 North American residents are no longer able to play in the PokerShare cardroom.
We have closed your account, DMFW. If you had a cash balance in your account we have initiated a withdrawal for you to refund these monies in full. Along with your cash balance we have converted any Tournament Entry Chips (TECs) and included them in the withdrawal of funds.
If you are owed money, you will be receiving a check in full for your entire account balance to your address on file. Balances in excess of $500 have been sent by FedEx. Smaller balances have been sent by regular mail.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely
Robert pokershareinquiries@ecom-arts.com
I don't want my money in the mail 2 months from now. I want it in my Neteller account tomorrow. F this.

One Road,
I don't appreciate the implications in your email.
Also, PokerShare is not a scam. It is a skin of UltimateBet. The site still exists, but cannot have North American users.

Okay - then please except my apologies.
For everyone else: I did not mean to imply that Pocketfives was in any way knowingly misleading in any shape form or fashion regarding Pokershare; obviously Cal and P5 had no idea this was coming, however:
It seems you had access to a great deal of information regarding the launch, but not so much regarding the demise. To say "the site still exists, but cannot have North American users" (as of about, what, ten minutes ago) is very much the same as saying "the site does not exist except for our extensive European membership".
To quote your own post: "Oh my God".
I didn't say it was a scam. I said - in a roundabout way - that it was launced with a lot of confusion (and hype), which made me wary. I still don't think it was a scam - I think it was an ill-concieved idea very poorly executed.
In fact, I'm sure you are feeling very much dismayed by this turn of events, so again, I apologize.

We had no info that this was coming. We were as shocked when we got the emails as you were.
Please give us a little time to figure this out and we will relay everything we learn.

I have a feeling I won't be on the hat list.
Seriously: I was way off base with my previous remarks. You guys are great, this site is great and I've gained a lot from it.
You did jump on the bandwagon, but I'm sure with the best of intentions. I'm guessing you'd like a few private moments with Max in a dark alley right now.
Sorry Cal, sometimes my fingers move faster than my brain, and I'm sure no one will do more to make sure this all comes out right for P5rs.
I just hope we don't have to chisel "the check's in the mail" in stone right up there with "so I went all-in to see where I was at" -

I have been sending and recieving emails from pokershare all day long.
And here is what I have found out for people that are still wondering on
a few things. They are going to send checks via FedEx who had more then
$500 in there accounts. The smaller balances are getting mailed regular
mail. They said that checks via FedEx will take a max of 4 days to
recieve. They sent an email to me saying this....
Your cash has been sent to your address on record as part of the final
withdrawal. Amounts in excess of $500 have been sent via FedEx and
here is the check information:
06:37:48 PM EST 11/01/2005 Cash Out-Check $--,---.13
Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
So at least the account information that they sent was accurate as to
what i should be getting back and they confirmed that it will be shipped
to my current address so now its just a waiting game. I guess we
will see wether its a big scam or not in 3-4 business days!!

With the great site that Cal Adam and Riley have put together here..I would certainly recommend they withhold recommendations on using UB in the future until UB at least "somewhat" show some kind of ability to run a poker site a little better.
Forgetting about the problems this site seems to have every day of the week, You have to worry about a site who puts together a weirdo deal to increase business at the expense of business they already had (I mean--what halfway intelligent business people cannibalize their business in this way).
Then--without notice shut it all down in a goofy--bumbling---stumbling way
