I have no secret insight into what the Government is doing in this case. But right now everything seems clearly just related to the money. In my opinion it is unlikely, as g911 suggests, that the DOJ has had the lengthy investigation and amassing of evidence needed to bring an action against the FTP pros or owners. So therefore I think the g911 story is, for the most part, just fear-mongering for publicity.
I say this not because it is impossible that the DOJ has a long term plan to seek charges against "owners" of sites that operate in the US. But because 1) having the evidence to actually prove in court "that which we all know" would be a serious and lengthy task in this kind of a case, maybe even impossible without an inside snitch, and maybe not even then, and 2) If they had invested all that time in making a case against individuals it is most likely they would move against the individuals first, not some funds only tangentially related to some (at worst) of their activities.
But as to the motion to unseal, I hope they win it - excessive government secrecy has become the routine of late, not the exception it should be. My guess, however, is that other events may overtake this one and lead to the actual documents being revealed. But if they don't, its good to have the media asking for access.
