24,000 Online Poker Players Affected by Federal Funds Seizure

WASHINGTON (AP) -- An advocacy group for online poker says the federal government has frozen the accounts of payment processors that handle the winnings of thousands of online poker players.
The Poker Players Alliance says those winnings are worth upward of $30 million.
The alliance tells The Associated Press that the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York told three banks to freeze the accounts.
A document obtained by the AP shows that a judge in the district issued a seizure warrant last week for an account at a Wells Fargo bank in San Francisco.
The Justice Department has long maintained that Internet gambling is illegal, a view that the poker group challenges.

If so, where do you live and what site did it come from.

Requested check 6/5, got it 6/15 in Wisconsin (from PS), came from a bank in Canada. I depo'd on the 15th and haven't heard anything from my bank yet. I'm waiting for 10 days to see if it will clear, I'll let you guys know

full tilt and pokerstars said that we can cash out again in the emails i received from them. has anyone done so successfully since sunday?
I didn't get any e-mails from PS about the seizures, did they only e-mail effected players or players who have tried to cash out?

got my substitute check and found out on the15th, it was returned.........bad feelings.......have had e-check in limbo since the 7th, also......only responses have been that they are lookin into it, "thanks for your patience".

i had a check that they said they returned to me a few days ago but i never got the money back in my account. im pretty pissed. it says the money has been put back in but it hasnt. ive been keep good track of my roll. dont really know what to do.

SWIFT number is same as BIC. Its the international code that recognises a bank.www.Swift.com has a list of all the codes for institutions.

My eCheck cashout (5/31) was denied and today they put the $ back in the old account aka the "roach motel". What I have been reading on here and 2+2 has not been very promising at all in regards to bank account transfers. Wtf other options are there???

My credit union (Navy Federal) doesn't have a SWIFT code - is it needed for them to do a wire transfer to me?

lol you are an idiot trying to be superman. nothing in that post at ALL is anything the feds do not know or can't find out by looking at the cashout options on pokerstars website. its basic knowledge any international bank transfer requres a swift code.. so thanks, but no thanks.

Swift isn't the name of the bank. Swift is the name of the system used to transfer money internationally. Check out http://www.exportbureau.com/check_swift_code.html for more.
