Nice information as always TE . Folks, if your congressman is on the list of co-sponsors, a short thank you e-mail is well in order. If your congressman is not on the list, TE"s "Letter to Congress" would be a good thing to send!

Thanks!
Great advice Skall. Yes, our friends in Congress need to hear from us.

The PPA Congressional Ratings Guide is at www.congressionalpoker.com. I recommend everyone check it out. All the congressmen listed above are either A or A+. I imagine we'll start getting new supporters soon as well.

Thanks for putting in the time to compose all this information. I am sad to see that Ohio is not on that list. In any case, I hope the player and PPA can gather as much support as possible. It really seems with these bills coing to light that poker and players are fighting hard for the right to play. Thanks TE.

Hopefully poker players will write and call Congress to make their voices heard.
Ohio does have four A rated Congressmen. Hopefully they'll sign onto these bills soon.

Thanks for the link. I have their emails and snail mail, I will write. The link you gave me was great, but when I click on the Name of the person, then the contact option, it gives me an error message that the alert is no longer there. I am not sure if that matters, but I figured I would let you know.
It is too bad not many P5'ers come and check out this section. I was torn to start posting on this site but I hate to see your hard work "fall on deaf ears" so to speak. Anything I can do to help, feel free to let me know. Kudos for all the work on Digg and Twitter, as well as making it as easy as possible for people to write President Obama and Congress.

Thanks for writing and calling. Nice catch on the link. I'll let PPA know to update it.

Thanks for that as well. I've been working on inviting P5ers to post here, and it is bearing some fruit already. I believe this forum will really take off if we keep the content and discussion going.

Any ideas on how maney co-sponsors Frank would want or need before bringing his bill's out of committee? Is there a magic number i.e. half, quarter, etc. or is it just when he feels like it's ready? I am ignorant of politics and if this question is dumb or been asked please forgive me

It's a good question. More cosponsors are better, as the quantity of cosponsors helps us show support
for our position. Still, bills pass with ten or fewer cosponsors all
the time, so it's not a perfect predictor of probability of passage.
That being said, I'd like to see 50 or more. I think that will be enough for Rep. Frank to move it forward.
I think our standing has greatly improved over last year, and it's
WAY higher than it was in the dark days when UIGEA passed. I thank
every poker player who took a stand.
