He isnt shoving an 8 i dont think, a jack i think if hes willing to shove turn he woulda done it on the flop. I Put him on either 6-7, T9, or a f-draw. That being said, good/bad call?

Well your putting a quarter of your stack in with 2 overs and only 1 card to come, pretty spewy imo.

i appreciate your opinion but i think ur looking into it was too shallow. You see two overs and you think im chasing, i think im ahead because what hands is he gonna do tihs with? 9T, 67, diamond draws. All of which im ahead of. Idk if it was smart or not long run tho

sure it looks like a bluff................... but you only have A high, he prob knows that you have two overs and is betting his small pp, its still very early in tourny and you def dont have the odds in fav. of your call, there is only 240 in the pot before his bet i would fold, let someone else play sheriff

Im just saying that shoving a draw after the board pairs is really bad, so i didnt think he had a draw. If he did, then good for you nice call, but a pretty bad shove by him imo.

I think A8 is in his range here, it makes sense for him to check the flop and shove the turn, if again, hes bad.
why do you think he would do this with a draw? he checked the flop and you checked behind,( why no c bet?) if i had a draw here i might check raise all in, but why would he lead? why not check and hope you check again as well?

I think it's 50/50 on what to do. His range basically never has an 8, and if it did, that's not how he would play it. A jack would def bet the flop. I kinda like a call actually.

a jack may not bet the flop, he may have been trying to get in a check raise, you checked behind so now he has you on two overs or a small pp, but most likely two overs and decides to push it in and hope you read it as a bluff

I think we are giving the villian way too much credit here. I've noticed most people who are already that short at this blind level are usually awful and tend make rediculous overbets with garbage. I'm definatley leaning towards calling now that I've given it more thought.

Don't put yourself in this position again. You must c-bet the flop and see where you're at. Now I think you've got to fold.
If you were gonna call him all the way anyway you should of shoved on the flop, i'd rather he folded there and then rather you playing a guessing game.

wow, thanks for all the responses. I think as played i should call. If i bet the flop and get info and then he makes the play at me its an obv fold. I left myself vulnerable to this sort of thing. He had 57o was def a strange play but hindsight just bet the flop see what happens. I hate cbetting AK early but i guess here itsj ust for info

Make the C bet. Only thing you beat is a bluff so as played, easy fold.
