It is impossible to answer your question without knowing your bankroll, but in my opinion, you do not need to play the $100 game. I think the $20, $30, and TEC sngs at UB are challenging and fair games. You can experiment some without getting killed, or you can play solid and maybe build a bankroll. If you win a TEC, you can play in a $100 MTT with the potential of a big payoff, or at least gain some experience in this very tough game. Adam wrote an article about his sng strategy which is worth reading. My summary (affected by my age and lack of memory) is 1. Play tight at the beginning, using either good cards or superior position to build a stack. Don't jeopardize your stack with big risky calls at this stage. 2. After some of the field is gone, open up some. Play some hands and pick up some chips. 3. Make the final 3 and then, depending on your stack size, get to HU. 4. Don't risk your tourney on one hand early. Remember, you can lose in 1 hand but can't win the tourney in 1 hand. Good Luck.
