Maximize profit or minimize loss if you're not sure?

No reads.  I called him down thinking he could have me out kicked but figured it was unlikely.  Should I have shoved him on the turn or river or did I play this right?

Thanks for any help.

Do you think they would've called if you'd shoved turn??
Not sure why you're posting this hand to be honest.... you got paid off pretty decently considering villain's hand was the shits.

Will a worse hand be calling.... or a better hand be folding??

Well played not getting called by worse and either way ahead or way behind.

The end result was irrelevant to my question.  I was trying to figure out if I should've tried to get all my chips in rather than just flatting him in case I was beat.

I think he was explaining the answer to the your question.

No, you shouldn't have played it any differently, because you made the most money possible as played.

If you had raised, would he have called you with a weaker hand?  Not likely.  So you could not have made any more profit.  If he had a stronger hand, of course he wouldn't fold, so you would have saved yourself as much as possible.
