So obviously this looks like a good spot but is it really? If I make a raise and I'm only getting only better hands to call is it better to just flat?
If you put in a raise, how big?

1. if you're going to open the action from the CO, raise, don't limp that close to the button when action is folded to you.

I assume you're kidding, but if you're not - no. Don't flat here. Flatting here gives up so much value it's absurd. You have sixes full of deuces - what are you waiting to have to raise?
This looks like the 2nd hand of an entire tournament so you obviously don't have an established image yet. So many micro players play crazy early on - take advantage of that fact and of basically being an unknown. Raise it up to 550-600 and either win as much as you would with a flat (good chance he's folding), get more value with him calling off with A2, 87 or some other absurd hand, etc. etc. Flatting here is REALLY bad. There are 3 and only 3 hands that beat you: 22, 88, 68. All of those lines basically suck value-wise if villain in fact has one of those hands.
3. If he did have quad deuces or something and you posted this as a disguised bad beat, the fact that you're posting this in hand advice makes me basically glad that you lost. And the more I re-read your HH, the more I think that's exactly what this is and that basically tilts me for wasting 4 minutes on this response.

nah, never put somebody on quads.
I was just thinking 8's full or another 6's full.
Anyway I made it 400 to go and he folded, I was just thinking about it after the hand was over and thought maybe there was a better play on the river to make more money.

I could possibly see him having 22 perhaps and with that weird line he took but i doubt it. Anyway I wouldnt put him on 88, im raising from the BB with 88 after a limp from the cutoff seat (it just looks weak). He could possibly have 68, but still you have a full im going to almost always think im ahead or at most be even with him, so def raise for value. Also the only way you could have maybe, possibly try and get more from him is if you overbet on the raise, making it seem like you were trying to steal it, but like future said it is early in the game and there are prolly no reads from the either of you on each other so i dunno.

If you decide to play 96s, why on earth would you give up now given the board?? You limped and did not get reraised, villain's actions SCREAM he's holding a lone 8, 2 or air. I'd reraise if i were you if only not to have to show your pathetic hand AND because he may be holding a lone 6 also (slim chance) and could be playing careful, folding his hand suspecting YOU are holding 88 or 22.

Hello I m french and I m OCB66. (sorry for my english)
I don't remenmber this hand but it's a really good spot for you and i probably have a pocket pair like 55 or 77. I never raise this hand post flop in starting tournament, I prefer touch my set the less expencive possible.
At the river I want to take the pot. You rais 40$ at flop at BU and many player do this with nothing, and you check the turn. If you got a 8 you can be affraid of & 2 or 6, that why i raise.
Your reraise river is ev+ but 400$ is a little expensive I had probably raise 320$-350$, in this limits some players can pay you with a 8 or a 2.

LOL - this is an AWSOME spot only 2 hands that can beat you (22 & 88) if they have one of those oh well gg - get some chips in there. I say make it around 440 to 480 to go. You are getting paid by any 2 and most over PRs and sometimes lonesome As - raise & insta-call the push if it comes!
my 2 cents

Well, let's think this out here. Obviously 88 and 22 will put you all in if you raise. Any other 6 likely will too. So, if you raise here, you have to do it with the intention of calling down.
What might call your raise here too? My guess is a 2 will. If OCB is bad (and I know he posted here, but if he's an unknown at the time) he might call down an 8 to a raise. If he has an overpair, he might call down too (though, hard to get him on 99+ the way the hand played here).
I think your ahead or splitting here 95% of the time, so I think it's rediculous to not raise. I think I make it about 500. If you get repopped, then I would just flat there

at this level (small stakes mtt, and early on) and with this hand I raise HUGE: the pot, or even a bit over the pot and cross my fingers for a shove.
that's the +ev play here... the bad hands people will call with / shove with is shocking, and the frequecy of this happening is soooo common it is worth it long term. Sure ocne in a while u hit the bigger hand but it is rare, and it is far more than made up for the times u win a massive pot.
