 i d prob. call here, if he had a made hand, set or flopped the str8 i doubt he would  lead out like this, he could have you on two overs, but most likely has a strong draw like open ended and a f draw and your prob flipping, but you have to get chips sometime and you wont be completely crushed if you lose...... I call and prob lose

so this guy cold calls 1000 then pushes that flop?

man he's probably overplaying his hand, but im not sure you can call here.

I would probably take time to think about my tourny chances if i fold vs call and win.

on balence, i think you have to beleive that he may have you crushed with a set, say TT 99, or has some form of pr/draw; i doulbt he's drawing dead.

I hate it, but i call and close my eyes.  Way too drawy to fold an under-repped overpair on that board.

I had the same board near enough when playing in the 5k on bodog, 14 left and the other guy pushes for a massive overbet but instead of Aces I have KK, I call knowing a win will make me massive chip leader. he turns over 77 and I go into a mammoth chip lead and win the tourney

I call.  A) I can't fold aces.  I suck and I know it.  B) That bet just seems really scared to me.  If he had a set I think he would make a smaller bet.  I doubt he's trying to blast you out of the pot with QJ or 67 which probably aren't likely to have called pre anyway.  To me it seems like either an overpair like JJ-QQ or some pair/draw or straight/flush combo like AJcc.

meh.  thanks for the responces everyone.  I ended up folding and I so regret it.  The more I analyze the hand I realize he was pry flatting me with JJ+.  In fact I bet he had JJ.

 scarded 10 9 or 89 would also be a valid option imo. Seen people play two pairs on drawy boards like this on many occasions. Usually its fish that overbet like that, and fish are liable to call with suited connectors in that spot. Fish usually slowplays a straight and fish usually checkcalls draws. Thus my best guess would be a set of nines or a two pair hand on the flop. JJ is also possible
 

Well, you made your own bed here with the check.  It's a scary board, and about the only made hand that you check here would be QJ clubs, and would you raise that hand UTG?

So, by raising pre and checking here, the only thing you convey is weakness.  So, I think he ought to push any hand here, let alone if he actually has a draw.

What was your plan here if a non safe turn card hit?  Club or a Jack or something like that?  Were you just check/folding then?

I don't think you can call here.  You checked, so just fold, even though I think your ahead.  If you were going to call this, you really have to lead out, give him a chance to fold a bad hand, so you aren't put to the test.

Remember, scary boards aren't just scary to you, they can be just as scary to him.

If I lead out and he raises with an OE or a pair+combo draw, it's hard to proceed at all.  I'm fine with him taking the lead on the betting on the flop due to him leading alot of str8+ FD's in his range as well as a single pair.  Hence why I wanted to see a safe turn card before I made a sizeable bet.  Flops like this lead to lots of action and I have just the one pair and no backdoor draws.  Also If he made a super super small weak bet after my check I was fine with check raising big and commiting myself, but he took this strange line...

I still don't think anyone has made a case for leading out here, especially at the micro levels.  Alot of players will check behind here with big draws too (in the micros) which lets me make a PSB on the turn which most donks call with draws, therefore raising my equity against a combo draw by alot.

I too would put him on JJ here. IT is about the only hand that makes sense. I still don't think I would shove JJ. With as many outs as he had , I would certainly like to build a big pot here. But at micros, you see a lot of draws overplayed and shoved like this.
