Re:Is there a viable 3rd poker site to play on? Well after much checking, I'm going to open up an account on Doyle's Room. The traffic seems to be picking up there. Their tourney selection doesn't look bad. And if the shit hits the fan, you know Doyle will pay everyone back out of his own pocket if he has to. He's done it before with Highlander Poker. At least with his name attached you don't have to worry about your money. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is there a viable 3rd poker site to play on? I sure wish I could find one (for U.S.). I don't really care for the cartoony feel of FTP (even w/avatars off). So, I play at PS, but I can't stand the idiots they have responding to e-mails there. I'll grant you that 95% of the time they are VERY fast at responding. However, if you ask more than a simple yes or no question, just stand by for a whole string of e-mails that answer everything EXCEPT what you ask. You'll have to send 4 or 5 e-mails and then maybe you'll get someone who will actually read and understand the whole e-mail. ...And it's not like my grammar and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Would you fold here? It's .50 & 1.00. He's probably not going to lead out with a big hand. So, I think JJ, JT, TT are unlikely, and these are the only hands you're really worried about. AJ is unlikely because he didn't raise preflop. I give him KJ or QJ and push the turn on him. Of course, maybe that's why I stick to tourneys now. LOL. If he turned over Q,9 it would be a little sickening though. But most people probably wouldn't bet out the whole pot with Q9 right there. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Whats your play here? If your "superdonk" assessment is correct, then he doesn't know how to float. In that case you're probably behind to a pair or a set. If he's not a donk, then it could be a float. Best case scenario he's on a flush draw. Either way, you're out of position, you took a stab. Doesn't look like he's going to give it up very easily and this smells like a trap to me. Check/fold the turn. You don't have enough chips left (27k) to get too creative and he doesn't rally have enough left (17k) to fold. He's got a hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): hum...what to do? Costs approx 75k for a pot of 135k. Kinda tough. You said you've been playing a little loose and been caught a few times. Makes me lean toward a call here. I think the deciding factor is how he plays. Is he the type that tries to play sheriff against a stealer' If you don't know, then maybe a fold isn't altogether bad. You've still got about 83k. I'd probably call, but I don't think folding is terrible. It was probably a coin flip. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): AQs deep in $109 stars freezeout I thought about it before looking at the result and I think you gotta let this one go. It is kind of a tough decision though (especially in the heat of battle). But he's shown strength with his initial raise already. So, when he pushes against your re-raise you gotta figure you're behind to either a pair or AK. Then you gotta try to figure out if you're ready to flip a coin against a pair. The deciding factor for this in my mind is the fact that you can lay it down and still have about 100k left. No need to take such a big risk. You asked the question "do you really have it" with your 26k ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Bad hand on my part? I agree that this hand should be folded preflop. You're still at a full table and UTG+1 and the UTG has min-raised. This is usually a sign of some strength, not weakness, especially at this level. You only have A,6, even if it is suited. You've got enough chips for now. Chuck it and let someone else go broke on this hand. Not to mention that if someone reraises behind you, you're going to have to lay it down. But, since you did come into the hand... check, fold to any bet on that flop. IMO. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): How do you play AK here? Another option is a stop-and-go-like play. Flat call. And push on the flop no matter what comes. He will still have 18k left going to the flop. Enough to make him consider laying down if he doesn't hit the flop hard. This gives you another way to win. After he re-raises a third of his stack pre-flop, he is obviously willing to get it all-in if you pop it back right then and there. He might not be so willing if the flop doesn't hit him and you push since you will have the first opportunity to bet. Yes, if he is holding AA or KK or if he flops the set (or otherwise out flops you) then you are ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
