Re:final 40 of 11 rebuy on stars...do you make this call? the problem with this is that even if he has any 2 random cards ur only a small favorite say J10d or something ur only 55% but its highly likely ur an underdog as he was and could be a big underdog and have 3outs if he has A10 AJ AQ AK AA KK QQ JJ 1010 99 only 50/50 if he has 88 77 66 55 44 33 22 and only small favorite if he has any 2 random cards. my style is not to risk half my stack here. but others might c it different and could probably easily argue the other way. odds are close but not quite there imo Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:final 40 of 11 rebuy on stars...do you make this call? Fold imo playing A9 for about half ur stack and likely to have only 3 outs or 50/50 at best only thing u dominate is a weaker ace. tough spot but your essentially risking your tourney on A9. try not to call off big portions of your chips obv. you want to leave two ways to win the pot when possible by raising ur opponent and making them fold or showing down the best hand. so reshoving A9 better than calling with A9. so its a fold imo. but what do i know. Re(1): Advice with KK... check -- if he makes a solid bet like 3/4 to pot size I give him credit for the ace -- a weak bet, Half the pot or less I raise . If he checks behind no ace. I eliminate the guessing game and get all in pre here with the raise and call - 1 of the two big stacks might want to gamble with smaller pair or something -- ur repop invited 2 calls with the two big stacks your raising into- too much guessing involved. all in pre you pick up 1000 chip pot or showdown with 1 caller where your likely a big favorite. Like to know what he had -- AQ or smaller pair...maybe' You might not know if you folded. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Strategy against extremely loose players what do you think about Andy blochs section in ftp strategy guide (if youve read it) where he pretty much likes to always limp behind a chronic limper. A lot of people go on a mission to stop limpers by constantly raising them. A raise wont make them fold and you pick up no knew information. You want to encourage them to keep limping and loosen up your starting requirements playing suited connectors and such eventually you will hit a big hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Strategy against extremely loose players Just wondering some thoughts on players who are raising or limping and calling your raises and are involved in every pot. I'm talking mostly about the beginning stages of tournaments but in general also. Is strategy here to tighten up and look for more premium hands to get him with or loosen up your staarting requirements a little since he is playing such a wide range. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): your play? Agreed -- I think it was a fold because I had been fairly tight against his raises up to that point so when I reraise he knows I have a big hand and hes still willing to push me in for his tourney he must be strong and I must be beat or a coinflip at best. Re(3): Question for any1 experienced in omaha hi/lo I like the call preflop because im already invested in the blinds -- likely the raise and call are sharing low cards and if no low comes i could hit a big hand which is what happened and Im double suited -- only 375 more to call with big stack. No brainer to me. got the flop i was looking for. Got him to commit his chips as a big underdog so ..... thats the goal I guess' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): call or fold fold pre and post flop. preflop your calling a hand out of position with rags. post flop your obviously dominated and would mostly be drawing to a 9 or 8 which is only six outs MAX. BIG UNDERDOG. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): fold to pre flop raise correect or incorrect IMO Definite call preflop because YOU HAVE POSITION --- crucial--- and its a min raise. If you did call.... I Think its a fold post flop though on the flush draw because you dont want to risk your tourney as a BIG underdog to hit a club unless you had a straight draw with it (which is a call) or 2 overcards to the board like AK clubs which is even risky (because you could be up against a set) . So in the end you saved yourself 80 chips but call preflop was the right play IMO. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
