Re:Feelings on Hustling? I have always been a big believer in personal responsibility. You have control of your life by the decisions you make such as planning ahead, living with in your means, bankroll management, the substances you put in your body, and the situations you put yourself in, ect. Through my time playing I have encountered many of the same scenarios as you all have, minus the 10k+ pots. I got my start in a friendly social dorm game and have organized home games in the past for different groups of friends. I have played poker sometimes by choice and sometimes out of necessity as my sole source of ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

An Outstanding Play This occurred at live 1/2 NL home game. I got to the game at 3:00 am. Everyone was deep with the average stack about $500. I bought in for $300. Seat 4: Me. Tight/aggressive played 6 hands in 3 hours, had respect of table. Seat 3: Tight/Aggressive, played 5 hands in 3 hours, yet methodical, smart, well respected. About 5:30 re-re-raised to $200 preflop with 5,2 off and got shoved on by 6,7d. First hand he had shown all night. Seat 6: Weak/passive. Drunk rich guy playing for entertainment, down $2,500, complete fish. ***6:00am*** Seat 1: Seat 2: Seat 3: $600 Seat 4: $450 Seat 5: Seat 6: ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

6% winner, insta calls Live Cash Game 0.25/0.50 blinds 4 handed SB $40 BB $20 UTG(ME) $180 D $150 UTG raises to $2 D reraises to $4 UTG reraises to $16 D insta calls, beats me into the pot Flop 10,10,2 UTG bets $20 D insta calls $20 Turn 6 UTG checks D bets $30 I'm initially thinking he has AA just by how quick he has called everything. No way he calls me with a 10 preflop. He's not a good player by any means and always over values his hands. I'm talking the hand through aloud and basically tell him I have KK. I thinking he might have KK or QQ, I push all in, if he has AA well good hand, just a cooler. He ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

Anyway to get away from the nuts? Playing live $2/5nl on SunCruz last night. I limped in with in mid position. Flop comes . BB bets $15, I raise to $45, cold call behind me, BB reraises to $145, I pushed all in for $225 total, another cold call behind me and BB calls. Did I play this right' The guy who cold called 225 had and caught the flush. Is there anyway to get away from this' I know I'm a favorite and will win a majority of the time, but do you ever take other persons draws into consideration' I know you want people calling with flush draws. Just want some thoughts. Do even the best players go broke here' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): just had to post this here to vent He shouldn't have been in there preflop and should have got out on the flop, and the turn but I think you should have raised more on the flop, perhaps to 8-10 to protect against the flush draw and/or being counterfieted. What he won today, he'll lose tommorow. Good luck buddy. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Set Mining or just idiotic? I love getting 2 outered, especially on stars. This guy dished out a couple bad beats on me earlier too which is what really erks me. He was getting on my nerves and this set me over the edge. I should have gone all in preflop, but was multi tabliing, I still think he would have called just because it was me, asshole. *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to 88_mustang [Kd Ks] jalvo2004: folds tokeweed: folds shadystud: folds spursdynasty: raises $0.40 to $0.50 oMrXo: folds -nutornot-: calls $0.50 bogs101: calls $0.50 blueamy11: calls $0.45 88_mustang: raises $1.50 to $2 spursdynasty: folds tokeweed ... Re(1): B&M Tipping Etiquette It was a great article. I like to tip large for exceptionally good service because you don't find it very often and I want to encourage it. I've had a little experience playing 1/2nl at Turning Stone(not a toke) Casino where the dealers rotate every 30 minutes. I'll typically throw the dealer a dollar or two when I take down a pot of 40 or more. I do this because I was given good cards or hit the flop. The only time I don't do this is if the dealer performs poorly or is rude. If I catch a miracle card to win the pot I'll toss him 5 -10 depending on the pot size. Also when ever there is a good ... Re(1): Is this a bad beat? I pulled the same scenario last weekend live at Turning Stone in the 1/2nl game. 2's over J's on a J72 flop. My first 1 outer ever. I've had horrible luck since then. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(1): Online Poker Obviously Rigged I'll go broke everytime preflop with KK. This same situation happened to me last night in a 5 handed cash game 0.25/0.50 blinds. I open the pot for $2 he reraises to $6, I push all in for $25 with my KK and he insta calls with AA and I'm suit dominated. Shit happens sometimes and it doesn't happen just online. All you can do is shake it off and keep playing. You will be on the flip side of this situation sometimes too, just think back and remember those times whenever you are on the wrong side. I was obviously upset last night, but at least I was beat preflop. It could have been worse, like ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

5 handed Just blowing off a little steam. Playing a live 5 handed game, 0.25/50 blinds. Very first hand I play all night, KK. I open the pot for 2, get reraised to 6, big stack smooth calls 6, i reraise all in to 25 total, and they both insta call, AA and 84o. You guess it, 567 flop, and there goes 25 bucks. I rebuy for 25 more, and the first hand dealt to me is 99, i raise to 3 and get reraised all in by the guy who had 84o last hand. I thought that he thought that I was on tilt and I thought he was full of shit because he just called 25 with 84o, so I called and he flips over JJ. There went $50 ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

Where to play in Florida? I'm looking for places to play 0.25/.50 - 1/2 NL cash games and $10-50 buy in tournies. I go to college in Boston, but Orlando is home. I'm willing to drive up to 2 hours to play. I'm going to take a shot this summer at trying to live off of poker. I know you can't live off these limits but I don't have that many expenses to cover other then gas and food money as I still live at home over the summer like a typical college student. I was looking into the Hardrock in Tampa but then found out about the $2 max bet. My backup plan was to go on the Suncruz boats a few times a week. Is there ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): In need of some help!! I will generally limp with any hand when I'm in middle to late position, when given the opportunity too, during the first 2 blind levels. My thinking for this is because you are only risking a minimal amount, genreally 1/75 -1/100 of your stack to see a flop and possibly hit it hard and accumalate chips. After the first two blind levels I generally tighten up until the blinds force me to loosen up again. Some people argue against this, but even if you don't hit any flops while limping, you're only down a minimal amount, no more down then you would be if you raise once or twice preflop with ... Re(1): Can you call here? Like I said, he had been reraising 100 on top quite often and no one ever called him. He was just running over the table which was annoying me, but I didn't say anything. I was just waiting for him to do it with me when I had the cards so I could make a quick 100 or more. So I limped and then called the raise because I had odds. I led out with 25 after the flop and he takes 10-15 seconds and reraises his usual 100. We hadn't seen his cards at all because everyone always folded to him but I knew he couldn't have the cards everytime. People fold behind as usual and it's back to me. I take about ... Can you call here? Live NL holdem game at Turning Stone, 1/2 blinds, 100 max buy in. I'm sitting deep with $700 and playing very few hands. I have a really tight table image. I limp in, the guy to my left raises to 8 and two people after call, so I call. Flop comes . I'm under the gun and lead out with 25. The guy to my left who opened the pot preflop, raises 100 on top. He's sitting on 600 and has been re-raising 100 quite often. We had been at the same table for about 2 hours now. The two other people fold, and I reraise all in. The board , he had . Could you call my all in' Thanks 88_mustang Posted in: Poker Discussion |
