Jared Hamby made a life-changing decision when he left his home in Texas for a chance at earning a living playing poker in Las Vegas. In the first half of 2007, he captured the imagination of the poker world when he won 3 big live tournaments, and gained recognition as an elite player.

After dominating online tournaments on PartyPoker, he put up consistent results across the major sites. Although he plays a much lower volume of online tournaments these days, TheWacoKidd has continued to put up results. His 3rd place finish in the inaugural Bodog Poker Open Main Event in March '08 was worth $29k, and he had two 5-figure scores in February '08 with final table appearances in the Full Tilt $1k Monday and the PokerStars $1k Super Tuesday.

Never a guy to back down from a challenge, Jared is highly competitive at Roshambo -- folding rocks, crushing scissors, and cutting paper at a higher rate than most opponents. His signature Baylor Bears cap has been the topic of many threads, as well as his Grey Goose bottle collection.
