Re:Best Poker Chat Put Downs!! Was in a hand where I was postive the guy was on a flush draw, I had a set, made a good sized bet on the flop, on the turn I go all-in, it's more than a pot sized bet. The guy calls and of course hits his flush draw. I'm like, how the hell can you call, risking your tourney on a flush draw with one card left' The dude says, I'm not afraid to lose. I early had checked out his stats on OPR, and his ROI was -65. So of course my respons to him saying I'm not afraid to lose was, yea, I can tell by looking at your ROI. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

99 vs, 99 A couple questions about this hand. I'm in a $5 tournament on Stars and I've got a pretty healthy stack of chips. I get dealt 99 on the button blinds are at 300/600. It's folded around and the player to my right who has opened a lot of pots raises to 1,800. I think there's a good chance he's just stealing so I re-raise him to $5,000 he calls. The flop comes QJ3 rainbow and he checks. Here's where I'm kind of mad at myself, wasn't really paying attention to how much he had in his stack, and I make a c-bet of like 8k into an 11k pot. He thinks about it for a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Talking Poker with Friends? I don't know how many of you have friends that you play with that have no idea what their doing but I play a couple of times a week with 4 or 5 friends that don't have a clue. Sometimes I'll try to help them, or give them advice but it seems like I'm trying to explain rocket science to someone that still uses a sling shot. It seems like my advice goes right over their heads and they can't grasp it. I got into a huge argument with one of them yesterday when he was talking about a hand he played in a tournament. He had KJ and the flop came King high he bet and got raised ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Was this a horrible call on the river? I felt 100% that I was ahead on this hand all the way up to the river. Felt he'd of raised me if he had 2 pair or better. On the river, if his hand improves to 2 pair I don't think he's moving in here because 2 pair might win the pot, on the other hand he's not getting me to lay down a straight or a better 2 pair. So my thought process here is did the Jack give him the straight or not' Was wanting to get some other thoughts on the hand. Thanks PokerStars Game #25395089737: Tournament #142279624, $3.00+$0.30 Hold'em No Limit - Level XV (250/500) - 2009/02/26 22:30:33 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What to tell a beginner? 1. Hand Rankings, and play tight. Beginners play way too many hands. 2. Position, beginners know nothing about it. 3. Don't Bluff, you can't bluff people who don't fold. 4. Teach him to value bet and make the most out of his made hands, because people don't' fold. 5. How to Calculate Odds and Percentages. Re:Clear case of collusion imo Your going to need more than one hand to prove collusion. The guy with 10k could of just not been paying attention. If you suspect collusion, send the players you suspect, and the tournament to poker stars. They'll look it over for you. Plus they have a lot more information. They'd know if these two people have played in tournaments before, if they've done anything similar. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:I LEARNED SOMETHING RECENTLY. The weird thing about poker is everybody has a mind set that they are good. I remember the first day I played online poker I thought I was pretty good. I started reading books and actually reached a point that I knew enough about poker to know that I wasn't as good as I thought I was. I think you've actually reached a point where you can turn things around. You've learned enough about the game to know your not very good at it. Now you can start learning and actually get better at this game. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:From Dennis Phillips' Blog...kinda lol What are you basing that Phillips sucks. You had no idea this guy existed until he placed 3rd in the WSOP. Now he sucks' I just gets old every year people make posts about how these amateurs like Moneymaker, Yang, Gold, and Phillips all suck at poker and are just luck boxes. The WSOP is a 5 day 12 hours a day tournament. That's frickin 60 hours of poker. Do you guys really think that somebody that has no clue could just luck box themselves to win this thing or make a final table' If anybody could luck box their way to the head table of the main event of poker. Then anybody that thinks ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Do you make this call? I was in a $5 turbo MTT yesterday. I ended up finishing 21st and made $69, 18th place paid $112. I'm in the BB with J9s The blinds are at $20,000/$10,000 with a $2,000 ante. I've got $50,000 behind. It's folded around and the SB moves all-in on me and has me covered I decide to call. I'm thinking here he probably is moving with any two cards, J9s is a pretty good hand in that spot. There Is like $41k in the pot with blinds and antes so I got to call another $50k to try and win a pot that's going to be about $160k pot. I'm trying to rebuild a bankroll right now, I ... Re:Am I missing something here? I got this from stars, so I guess this explains it. Thank you for your message. It is a standard Stud tournaments rule. Please note that the player who should bring it in was already all in after antes were posted. The next player in turn will be the person who will actually bring it in. Please note that in both hands dealinqueens happens to be all in after posting the ante, and same player happens to be the low card holder. The next player in turn happens to be you. Please let us know if you require assistance with anything else. Douglas PokerStars Support Team Posted in: Poker Discussion |
