Is there hope? Article in WSJ about poker legislation I agree something does need to be done at some point, but not at this expense. They do paint the possibility of a rosy future for online poker, but it is entirely too uncertain to trade for missing years of action. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is there hope? Article in WSJ about poker legislation The PPA should be called the PBA (Poker Business Alliance). No US poker player would trade the present situation (not ideal, but it still works) for no online poker for 2 years at least, followed by an unpredictable future which likely includes never again playing with foreigners. Clearly the PPA does not support the players, but rather the business interests that seek to make the most money as possible from poker players (the only interests we share are maximizing volume of play). No online poker player should or would support this bill, and unfortunately it's now clear that we should not ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:UIGEA feedback, VERY important to make all voices heard PROMPTLY. Sticky please. Just sent the following, feel free to copy it... Poker is a game of skill, and there is no federal law directed against playing poker on the internet. As such, internet poker does not meet the definition of "unlawful internet gambling" under the UIGEA. Therefore, any proposed regulations directed against internet poker do NOT fall under the purview of the UIGEA, and would be unlawful if implemented. Furthermore, issuance of regulations under the UIGEA at this time will bring further detriment to our already crippled banking/financial institutions. Thank you for your attention to ...
