Re:Almost impossible to bluff HINT: If you miss your flop and they flat-call your cbet, you can't confidently invest two more 1/2 pot bets to chase them off. Either check it down, or pot-sized bet the turn and pray. You save so much money by checking it down it's not funny. They call it weak-passive for a reson. They'll call to a showdown but won't really play back at you, and if they do, the bet-sizing is usually bizarre (but obvious). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:KQ suited utg fairly late in a 1 dollar mtt With your stack I like to lead out normal 5k or so and hope to get people calling light or folding low pp. IMO it represents strength since it's not a shove or a mn-bet and I'm never afraid of playing this hand here, and am shoving to 4bets, which may be weak pp's. Easy spot on flop, cbet or shove depending on board texture and preflop action. Pretty much it's 'do something but don't turn your cards over' time. I don't see a shove-pre helping us here, since we're getting called by lots of races. I try to outplay them here, and chase the fold (a better ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:flopped bottom set Didn't read replies yet: Flop call is fine if you're ready to fold if you miss. Bet flop since you want value, and now's a good enough time to see if you'll get some. Board is shitty and he bet pre, so do it~ raise or rr turn however it goes. basically go for 3 streets of value and abc this. I'm not scared of shit here, and if you bet-out, that spade draw is too miniscule to even worry about. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:so block bet I was going to answer this. My 'blocking bet' is normally 1/2 the pot or so, and accomplishes all goals. If I get rr'd hard I can leave, I can win the hand outright, and I can sometimes prevent a larger raise while being OOP since hands ahead of me like it when I bet for them. I also get the option of using scare cards on later streets, 3 barreling, and/or actually hitting my hand :D Works fine to be honest. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Could I have played this better? Nice analysis Sau. In micro you have to let these hands go. You didn't even make a hand until the river, and you had super-thin showdown value until then (zero if you consider the action). In micro, you're better off playing your hand and cbet/folding rather than playing draws. I just thought I'd say nit it up before everyone else says 'get it in everytime on your awesome draw/coinflip' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:am i a nit? I understand the fold, and can argue for it, so no, you're not a complete nit. The only problem is the sort of line he's taking, which looks like something I'd feel compelled to investigate another street, at least. He 3bets pre, then raises after the board wiffs everyone. That's not saying much. I understand K8 isn't the hand we're putting him on, but I don't think he 3bets with, AT, KT, QT, T9, and TT is unlikely. I have a good reason to think we're ahead of a middle pair here, so I: "ok so obv i should of bet out here and saw what he did but i ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Call or Fold? This, and as played, call. Wasn't this why you stayed in the hand' If not, call anyway and find a new tourney/sng/table. You'll learn something by calling, one way or the other. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Near bubble play in 180man SnG Looks good. He's not showing that much strength other than his donkbet. You improved on the turn and he checked ahead of you. If he hit his flush and was tricking you into it, so be it, I don't think I can get away from this hand on the bubble. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:was i wrong for thinking i was beat here???? Nah, you're fine. There's only so many flops that hit A9s hard, and this wasn't one of them. 4 spades, 2 pair, or top kicker here, and I'd flat-or-shove. Here, fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:I hate when this happens....call or fold? as played, fold If you size your 3bet to 4x -- 1200 you'll get more folds, and a much clearer understanding if you should fold to a reshove. A call isn't terrible AQ suited, but you're likely racing any pp, but with a bigger bet, maybe you get a few more middle pairs to fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
