Re:Carbon poker did this to me, not kidding
Switch to RPM Poker. Same games/same network and you get a phone number that a reasonable person will answer and make sure this doesn't happen.

Re(4): The Stars 100r sucks
I agree that a 1200-2400 level is needed. There are a few options to change the structure: I'd like to see either 3000 chips per rebuy (after all you get 3000 for $100 in a freezeout) or possibly allow a double add-on like live rebuys. Along with one of these changes Stars should go into antes earlier, possibly starting level 5 at 75-150-15 (or 25 ante would be fun). The higher cost per round would cancel out the extra chips and not cause the tournament to last much longer. Adding a few more chips to start usually doesn't significantly lengthen tournaments that have a stage with doubling ...

Re(2): Graps Article - Annette's Play
Actually ICM is a model that accounts for chips having diminishing marginal utility. I'm not much of a SNG player but my understanding is that they use it to in order not call all ins too often and not bubble as much. You essentially wrote that you believed Annette's chips had increasing marginal utility. There is quite a bit more statistical support for the argument that you should pass on +ev situations (Independent Chip Model) than that you should take -ev ones (tournament donkey model).

Re(1): Grapsfan article/Annette sucks
Hi Nick if you read the other thread you'll see I posted some questions for Annette about the article. Unfortunately your post raises some of the same questions for me. I'd be a lot more interested in your ideas about how to correctly play 74s if they came with real calculations.

Re(3): Graps Article - Annette's Play
Annette how do you feel about the article' I thought it was interesting that the author didn't do any equity calculations or include the term expected value. Do you feel that grapsfan is helping beginning players differentiate between good spots to isolate with 74s and bad ones' Do you think that it's reasonable to assume an unknown player such as hardy1973 never has big hand because he smooth-called a raise preflop in the small blind, "even with a shortstacked big blind"' Are there other reasons than inducing a squeeze that might cause a player to smooth-call with a hand like AA or KK, ...

Hahahaha "poker theorist put to the test." Jeff's made well over a million before his 20th birthday and is one of only a handful of top tier tournament players who have actually beat the nosebleed stakes cash games. Court maybe you should revise that blurb.

This is not a joke or a "level" or something it's all stuff I've heard from people I trust. I haven't datamined the games but the regulars seem to think fatraiser was a big loser. No idea about how any of the UB accounts did in cash games.

Re(9): so whos doing AP's 1k buyin
Ok why don't you read through all the spreadsheets, names, emails, screennames, forum accounts, myspace accounts, IP addresses, and other info that's been discovered so far and look for more evidence' Or IM a few of your friends and tell them what's going on' Or post on other forums where poker players might not have heard of this yet' Or submit stories to weblogs and other news sources' Or maybe email AP demanding that they publish more information' Hell go harass Mark Seif in the chat. Telling us what horrible people Watts and Thayer are doesn't seem very constructive.

Sketchy I don't approve of it but what can you accuse them of' They aren't stealing, they aren't lying and they aren't hurting anyone directly. I've been anti AP from the beginning of this and my money is off the site but let's focus our energy on the people who cheated marco and ikestoys of hundreds of thousands of dollars, not the ones who weren't interested in boycotting them.

Jared chill out I don't think giving AP $50 in rake is really that horrible a sin. I do think these guys are making a really bad decision because this company could very well be going down and who knows what will happen to the player account balances.

Surprisingly both AP and UB seem to be handling cashouts very well right now. I don't want to speak too soon but they both have me as "processed" and I'm expecting the money in my bank account this week.

Re(5): Article about "Steps" on the front page. Slow news day?
Dyzalot I think you are missing the point. A forum isn't a media outlet like a blog or portal. It's hard to find information on forums and the general public doesn't usually try. A political scandal in the old days used to start with a newspaper or television or radio story from a major player. My point was that today webloggers have that same power. The Monica Lewinsky scandal, for example, was kept alive by guys like Matt Drudge. It could be that every single AP user will find out about this from 2p2 and p5s threads but it just seems like there is more precedent for this becoming a big news ...
