Re:Durrrr's heads up challange. PLease explain what you are ROFL at and why. You don't think Durrr is a favorite in this format' Also, if you think it is ROFL that someone can wear down because they are doing something for a long period of time, that they are not used to doing, against someone who does this exact same thing almost everyday of his life, then you really have no levels of thinking. That's like saying that Shaq wouldn't wear down agaisnt Chris Paul in a one on one full court game to 100. Well, Shaq is a great basketball player and a much larger man. So the format should have nothing to do with the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What to do with AKs in this situation... In response to andres.... I did fold and no, sheets did not have a monster hand. I would have won the hand, but they were live. I am just interested in getting different opinions on hands like this. Personally, I just hate putting either my tourney at risk, or crippling myself with an unmade hand preflop. I hate preflop poker and did not feel that I needed to play preflop poker at this point yet with mt stack size and blinds. I would rather wait for a better spot IMO of course. Unless the two players both have an Ace or King in their hand, then I am not even a 50% favored to win the hand no ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What to do with AKs in this situation... Wachovia got busted in this hand. I then knocked out soggy a few hands later :). I then got moved soon after thank goodness! lol I'm at about 50K in chips in the top 10 with 50 players left or so too, so it worked out either way the hand played out. :) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What to do with AKs in this situation... I'm playing in the FTP $150 buyin 65K Guarantee right now and this situation comes up and I froze a little on what to do. Let me give you a little background. I was shortstacked throughout the middle portion of this tourney and then I got down to like 3K in chips at the 300/600 level. I then tripled up to about 9K. I then got a series of AK, AQ, AK, and AQ in about 6 hands. I chipped up in one of them, then got knocked back down to about 9K taking AK against QQ and blanking, raised with AQ and got reraised all in and had to foldl and then took blinds with one of them. I then doubled up to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Durrrr's heads up challange. I hate to say this and I can't believe it has come to this but........ I think Ivey is a considerable underdog in this format. I thought I would never say that, but I think he is crazy for playing under Durr's terms and he is letting his ego get in the way of making a smart decision. I know Ivey wants to challenge himself, but money is money and this possible amount of loss can be devastating even to him. Playing online HU matches with at least 4 tables at once over such a long period of time could come back to bite him in the arse. I think Durr will wear him down over time and get ... Re:atlantic city trip help Everything you need is at the Borgata, There is NO need to go and play anywhere else at all. Forget the TAJ, it sucks now compared to the Borgata as well as ANY other casino in AC. The only reason you should look elsewhere is if you like small to medium buyin daily tourneys and the Borgata is not offering what you are looking for that day. However, good luck trying to get a room at a reasonable rate at the Borgata. I can't get anything for less than $200 a night during the week and $300 during the weekend and I play in a lot of the Borgata's big tourneys and usually play 10/20 NL, ... Re:Pre-flop spot vs Bond18 Everyone wants to say, well, you have JJ so you probably need to just push. Personally I would fold here. You are not really pot committed here with you just having 1K invested with another 6800 behind and 200/400 blinds. Hell, you have 17 BB's left. Most people that have responded have somewhat agreed what his range might be. Scenario 1: AA, KK, QQ have you dominated, if he has 2 overs then it is still a coinflip and you still have a 50% chance of losing the pot. Therefore you will win this pot about 25% of the time and lose it 75% of the time. Scenerio 2: There is the chance he has 88 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Hand vs belowabove in the sunday million Sorry, but I don't like the way you played this hand in this situation. I would rather flat his initial raise preflop and then make my decision from there. Then you can check raise him all in if the flop is good for you and you still think you have the best hand. He is more likely to fold unmade hands that can still bust you at this point. You could also flop a set and then maximize the amount of chips you can get out of him with little fear. If you do reraise, you have to muck it if he comes back overtop IMO. His range in that situation is a PP that is bigger than yours or two overs like ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:60 Minutes report on tonite Seriously guys, what did you expect' What I can't believe is that poker players are actually suprised by that piece! To be honest, it wasn't anywhere near as negative on online poker as I expected it to be. I don't think it changed anyone's perspective in the US about online poker from what people already thought whether they were already for it or against it. Maybe the PPA could actually spin this like... 'Look, that just shows how we need to legalize online poker and regulate it so it has the proper oversight to prevent this stuff from happening like in brick and mortar ... Re:the limp all in?!?! There are 2 situations that scare the shit out of me. Limp reraising all in, and check raising the min amount post flop. Like you bet $100 and he check raises to $200. From past experience, both usually means they have the nuts. So, unless I have the nuts myself or have AA preflop, then I usually fold for now. So, until a player has shown me he is capable of limp reraising without AA, I fold any hand preflop unless it is AA. This involves patience and taking good notes. I ALWAYS, always, make a note when a player does this and what he has done it with if this info is available even if ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Staying at the Venetian for 4 nights in Dec. any stories good or bad about the hotel Sorry, with the recent shortcomings of service etc. at the Bellagio, the Venetian now rocks the Bellagio in terms of poker rooms. Only the Wynn is comparable now. The Venetian might not have the absolute best games yet, but in terms of overall appeal it is the best in Vegas now. The most room between tables of any poker room i've ever been in and the most comfortable chairs. The 5/10 and 10/20 NLHE games are good and they usually get at least a 2/5 PLO game going now most times. Food court is good and the casino itself is awesome. The rooms are fantastic too. Need serious help and suggestions... Stupidity and sheer bad luck have led me to this point. I have played online poker since 2000 and have always done pretty well. I started small and worked my way up to 10/20 NL on Party Poker back in the summer of 2006. After the fall of Party I joined FTP and went on a nice run winning my very first Sunday $200 HORSE event and then final tabling the Monday $1000+ 5 out of 7 weeks I played in early 2007. I built a very nice roll and a nice profit. I worked my way up to 25/50 PLO and 25/50 NLHE. Near the end of 2007 I went on a really bad run and after cashing out quite a bit and my horrid ... Re:Wow some fish is trying to tell me that I played this wrong, and should have folded!!! Just a few comments here because this is what I hate about online poker now and players like yourself: First of all, he didn't call this hand out of position! He was in the cutoff and YOU were in early to mid position. I don't like KQ very much especially from your position. However, raising with it with the blinds this small and stacks this big is OK. As long as you don't value the hand as a strong hand and don't get married to it if you flop a K or Q with a lot of post flop action. Secondly, him calling this hand in late position is not the worst play in the world. He does ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:KK in BB vs UTG Limp Shove....thoughts? Let me preface by saying that all situations are different and it's so hard to answer these questions when we don't have all the info we need to properly respond. Have you played with him before, has he showed he is capable of making this play without AA, etc. That being said.... There are 2 situations that scare me. Post flop min raises/checkraises/reraise when the intial bet is a good size bet and limp reraises UTG. I usually fold ANY hand and I mean any hand that is not the nuts to these ... Re:4-way headsup shootout collusion? Sorry man, but I don't support you on this. It's chip dumping plain and simple and is against FTP or any other poker site's rules. Does it give you a big advantage, no, but rules are rules. The more this stuff happens the worse it is for poker and the more it will make people continually skeptical of poker. When are we going to learn' If it seems like a borderline issue, DON'T DO IT! Stop trying to look for ways to convince yourself and others that it is ok to do.
