Re(1): UFC Dollar $ense
First it's hard to say how much fighters really make with other bonuses involved. I read that Rob Yundt was the only person to make under $7000 for UFC 81 but I can't find the source. Also comparing boxing to MMA is like apples to oranges. Boxing is different because you have promoters who can pay the headliners of a fight tons of money. HBO or whoever else pays for all the production and overhead costs to put on the show. The promoter then takes a cut of the PPV, the gate sales and sponsership money. The UFC has to cover all the production costs, arena costs, adveritising, ect.. Then they ...

Re(6): Kimbo slice
You can't compare a 46 year old to Ray Mercer to Tyson in his prime. Tyson would knock someone like Kimbo out the moment he tried to shoot in. Now I agree that most boxers would lose to mma fighters in an mma rules match, and most mma fighters would lose a boxing match. They are two totally different things. Oh, and boxing is not dying. I got Ali in a boxing match and Fedor in a mma match

Re(4): Kimbo slice
Even with his training I think Tyson could have knocked him out before kimbo tried to take him down. Plus if it as a street fight I'm sure they would both be more inclined to stand.

I doubt Kimbo could take Tyson down before his mma training. Tyscon would have knocked his ass out when he got too close.

Re(7): Josh Beckett for CY Young
Wins for a starting pitcher are the most overrated statistic. Just because a pitcher got a win doesn't mean he pitched well. I'm not saying that Beckett didn't have an amazing year, but if you look that stats that reflect more directly on the pitcher then you realize that C.C. deserved this.

Re(1): Braun is ROY...
If you look at the sabremetric stats Tulowitzki was worth more wins to his team than Braun. Braun's Batting Runs Above Average: 35 Braun's Fielding Runs Above Average: -27 so Braun's defense negates about 75% of his offense. Bruan crushed Tulowitzki in offensive categories but his defense was terrible Braun's WARP-3: 4.8 Tulowitzki's WARP-3: 10.8 WARP-3 is pretty much how many wins a player is worth over the season. Tulowitzki was worth about 6 more wins to his team than Braun.

Re(4): KIMBO vs BO rigged?
i think it was more of a case of cantrell taking a dive on his own. he probably just took the fight because of the payday and wanted to get out of there before he got hurt. i doubt kimbo knew anything about it.

i'd love to! you sent me a PM once that said "GTFO" and that was the greatest moment of my life...and i'm pretty sure it won't get much better than that. how about we tie a piano wire noose arond our neck, tie the other end to the beam of a bridge, super glue our hands to our head, and jump off the bridge'

2007 ALDS: 4-15, 1 HR, .267/.353/.467 and he played for the Yanks in 2004 so don't bring up the "he hasn't done shit for the yankees" bullshit. if you wanna get all over him for having two really bad playoff series with less than 30 AB then go ahead and be an idiot

yeah but how many world series rings does he have' that is the true measure of a player's worth. that is the exact reason why david eckstein should get more money. he hustles, he's scrappy, and he's a team player. shit he even has a world series MVP! GTFO with your "OPS" and "OBP" and these other ridiculous "statistics"
