Did this really happen to me? This is my story for those that care. I'll start by saying I am now a compulsive gambler. I admit it, and am currently getting help. I'm 23 years old, married no kids, and working on my masters degree. I have been playing poker seriously for right at 2 years now. In the last 2 years I have made over 30k playing cards. I got to the point where I felt I could hold my own in damn near any cash game I sat in. I have played many many hands, and feel I have much to learn, but that I am already better than most. However, this isn't a story about making money. Playing cards led me to my local ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): NL Cash Game Advice (interesting hand!) My only question for you, is what was the point of your lead. Did you intend to fold to a reraise (obviously not). My only guess would be pot control, but that didn't happen either. Just curious as to your thinking on this. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): A look inside the mind of a donk.... Gambler, Take this as you wish; however, I am only trying to help. I have played with you many times, and each and every time you amaze me with your arrogance. You berate anyone who puts any type of beat on you. You rub it in someones face when you suck out, and you constantly overrate you own play. I have never been impressed with your play, and several other respectable players are in agreement with me. Maybe you should concentrate more on improving your game, than on enlarging your overinflated ego. FWIW Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): cash game question bb/100 would be a better estimate than money $/hr since the number of hands vary's by how many tables you are playing. A reasonable bb/100 is 10. So under that assumption: .1/.25 X10= $2.50 ...= 20 ...= 60 ALL NUMBERS ASSUME NO LIMIT, and those are profit/100 hands Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): UB making strides I'm not sure who they have and have not talked to, but the impression I got was that they planned on talking to many players. I know many of you hate UB, but I was simply trying to inform those that care about current progress. If you don't care about UB, then don't read this thread. The server issues are being taken care of as per the recent upgrade. If you have played on there recently you will notice this. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

UB making strides I just got a call from Tommy at UB. He was asking MY suggestions for the site. It seems that UB is finally interested in making the site what the players want it to be. It might be a small step in the right direction, but at least its a step. Thanks to all who work so hard to make this game what it is. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): 5K EVENT..WHAT WOULD YOU DO HERE? Easy call for me here as well. Similar thing happened in UB's SCNII to me. I was sb with AJo. Whoisnext was on the button with an above average stack, and i was slightly below average. I bet pot on the button, I instantly pushed. If you fold it would seem you are playing not to lose, instead of to win. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): prima 200k raked hand for wsop?? I don't have a link, but this is almost as hard as the UB 150k points for the WPT championship. You would have to play at least 2/4 and play an insane # of tables and hours to do this. I don't really remember how long you have to earn the points, but I looked at it and there is no way I could possibly clear it playing 1/2nl, 3 tabling. Just my 2 cents. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Please CASH game PLAYERS I need some help/opinions on bb/100 7 ptbb/100 is very doable. I've done it at 1/2 6max for a while now. So, no 15 bb/100 is not outrageous, and yes my sample size is large enough to be considered valid. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): best way to qualify for big mtt's on UB Personal opinion, I like the morning turbo rebuys. Yea, they only pay 1 or 2 seats, but its pretty easy to get a stack and take it to the final table. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Cash Game Update 10 is much more reasonable for a successful player than 2bb. Warning though!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2/4 may be the same at many sites, or I may be an uber tight loser at 2/4, but I find UB's 2/4 MUCH harder than the 1/2. (6max). Maybe I should explore other sites, but I actually enjoy playing with better players as it is a much more exciting, albeit frustrating game. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): BODOG shutting down Has happened to me several times BEFORE the upgrade. And it only happens when I have multiple tables open. I left the site after this happened in the middle of a hand where $800 was in the pot and I had the best hand. There was no AI protection and I was timed out on that particular table. I called support and they told me it was my servers fault. I asked why only one table did that and they had no response. I won't play there until these problems are rectified. Re(1): rounders What you do should depend on your objectives. If you are a low limit grinder, and are doing this for a break, just play your way up and hope for the best. If you wish to play these on a regular basis, I'd have at least 10 tokens for the next level before moving up. IMHO, the lower 3 are a cakewalk, but 4 and 5 are filled with some very stiff competition. GL with whatever you decide. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): $1-2 NL Cash Game Update Gidders, Is your bb/100 the pt bb, or true bb' I just ask because I play 1/2nl 6 max and am averaging about 7.5 pt bb's. I thought that was considered dominate. I'd be very interested to chat with you about your stats and compare notes. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
