Best poker room in Deadwood South Dakota?
Yeah I plan to go to Custer Park, Needles Highway, Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, then Badlands. Should be fun. I won't be there for the state championship unfortunately. Thanks for the help

I may be going up to see Mt Rushmore and I learned that Deadwood South Dakota has had legalised gambling for 20 years. Has anyone played poker there and what are the best rooms to play NLHE' Thanks!!! i know i know...not many people ever go to SD

a word of advice from an old 4.40 grinder
All you ballin or yet to be ballin poker players a word of advice. If you hit a big score or have a good year don't forget where you came from. I've heard about or know too many players who get a big cash and begin to playing nosebleed games because they think they are great all of a sudden. Next thing you know they go through the downside of varience which is inevitable. Pay yourself first meaning take some of your profit and put it in the bank, stock market, downpayment for a house, toward a kids tuition...whatever. IMO if you are a winning player you dont need to be backed to play the mid-stakes buyins. I can't even imaging getting through 1200 people to a ft of the 27.50 on stars and then know half of that 8k will be gone IF i win. Plus makeup is deducted also. I think you would have to put in some serious volume to win some serious money. I think it would pay to be humble and play satties into the nightly $55 and play some DS to the sunday mil then use that money for a bunch of small buyins. 99+ (maybe 88) and aqo+......everyone knows deep will shove loose but even then a10 and aj are too loose to call imo and i'd rather fold 22-77 because one of them may have a legit hand. I like 88 and 99 bc deeb and any good player for that matter will be jamming small pairs with fold equity all day...especially on sundays

I only tilt bc its freakin .5/1 and I can't beat it. I just try to play good poker and seem to run into sick coolers all the time in cash. I think its because I know i'm a better player than them but when all the do is nit it up skill doesn't really matter. Just hit a set and ez game. Maybe I should just c/f a lot more. I only play games i'm +ev in so playing 2/4+ wouldn't make sense bc I'd just lose the money. Trying to work up to 2/4. Many people would be more successful if they learned good br skills. I think you're beat 90% of time and he may have like an aj or a10dd or even kjcc kind of hand. If he does have a spade he'll probably c/c on river with any descent spade unless you jam. If you feel like being ballsy you have to jam imo bc he's shown weakness in the hand imo like the river froze him. So what did you do on river and what did he have'

I was thinking about playing a little bit of cash and everyone i talk to says to get some kind of tracking software. I've read that holdem manager is a favored over PT3 and PT2 in cash, but does HEM allow for tracking tournements also' I'd be interested in amount of buyins, tourney fee, dates I played each tourney, and prize won/lost. If HEM doesn't do this then should I just buy PT3 even though I've heard its not as good'

yeah i just got through a 2 month 14k downswing but took 4th in a nightly to end it. Still down a little but br is replentished now. I found that I was not being patient at the end of tournies and trying to win soooooo badly that I'd make high varience marginal calls that would never end up in my favor. You just got to play through it and just play mid stakes and satties until you get that one score again. gl

Oh and the guy didn't limp......he was in the bb i think. I was utg+1..raised....folds he thinks for 10 secs then jams. Does the fact that he thought about it as opposed to insta jamming affect my decision'

yeah i've thought about limping before but i raise everything so limping becomes transparent if i play with people enough. If I limp and someone jams then I could make a hero call but then why not just raise call' Also its tough to play a q104 flop if other people limp behind so I'm essentially set mining, thus losing value on a descent pair. If I do get called then I can still c bet or c/r to take down the pot but when he jams its just a "simple" call or fold. Ok this is a situation that I find myself in more than I'd care to be in semideep in bigger buyin tournies. I just moved to the table a few hands ago and have no reads on anyone. I have trouble playing midpairs.....especially 88 and 99 from early position. I have about 24bb so I raise it up but the guy thinks about it for about 10 seconds and then jams. I am not familiar with this player at all and this situation frustrates the hell out of me so I'm curious what other people would do in this spot.
