Staal doesn't even play on the PP first or 2nd Unit. Anton frickin Stralman " the sausage king of Chicago" plays more on PP than Staal or McD. Maybe I'm wording it wrong. What they lack and have lacked since Leetch left is a D man who runs a PP. I think that's what I'm trying to say. I guess I'm more of an Offensive type than a Defense type which is why I get frustrated with this at time.

Best Defensive core' LOL What are you kidding me' As hard as they play you need some assemblance of offensive talent to win the Cup. They dont have it.They havent had it since the 1st year after the lockout and they havent developed a legit offensive player in their system in 18 years. Well they have never had a good offensive Defenseman since Leetch retired or Zubov left. So your right there. And it shows especially on the PP..They have three D Men who are pretty much Shut Down guys..(Staal,Girardi,McDonogh) MDZ is at best a number 2 and thats really a stretch. They made a huge mistake in signing Wade Redden. If your gonna spend that kind of money give it to a true Offensive D-Man like Brian Campbell. I know he sucked in Chicago but look at the difference he made in Florida. Meh Whatever. They are what they are. Good Defensive subpar Offensive team.

Fine he had a bad game. Hes allowed a bad one or two for carrying this sorry ass excuse of a hockey team to within 2 games of the Stanley Cup Finals. Of all the guys on the team I know in Game 6 he will come up with a great game and he will not give up more than 2 goals.. I have zero faith in anyone else on the team to do the same. There is no Messier on this team to guarantee them victory and deliver like in 94. There is no talent like Alex Kovalev riding along side Mess to deliver a game 6 win in NJ.. Callahan just played the best period of any Ranger this Playoffs. Too bad they have to be down 3-zip for them to play like this. And they only got one goal that period. At least they showed some life. Mostly Cally. Still zip from Gabby/Richards/ Stepan/ Good effort though. They will get game 6.

I'm curious.....
If he's a good player and has any concept of push/fold he should be shoving ATC there so I would call extremely light knowing that. So figure it that way.

What's Wrong With the NHL.
The NHL is fine the way it is. Maybe a few little tweaks here and there. The reason why scoring will never be back to 80's level is because the goalies are 100 times better and more athletic then what they were back then. Watch some old videos and see how many goalies go post to post like they do now. Fans will come if your team wins. Some teams will draw no matter what.. (Leafs,Habs,Rangers,Wings,Flames Flyers) Look at attendance from 2006 You have Chicago/Washingon/St Louis at bottom 3 of 4. Boston was in the bottom 3rd as well. If Phoenix doesnt draw well next year you should ...

They didn't make playoffs from 97 til lockout. 7 seasons. I wouldn't expect an islander fan to know the facts because they were in the playoffs every year then as well. Oh wait they had a 7 year drought as well from 94 to 01. Keep hating though.

This series has gone exactly how I thought it would. You think im negative. I take my cue for the coach.. Ask him if he thinks they are playing good. They are not a good offensive team. They play with great effort on D but they just arent talented on Offense.. And its terrible because they are playing against a goalie who will allow goals if they would actually put some legit pressure on him. I think in the end they will find a way to beat New Jersey but they wont beat LA playing like this.. Im still waiting for the Rangers to play a complete 60 minute game this playoffs. I still havent seen ...
