Re:US Players Depositing on Stars NOT using eChecks It links to your ss number and therefore your credit. Gift Card is seamless- you buy, deposit, and cut up. Are there no pure gift cards left that work' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Interesting hand, flopped quads in the SB. What would your line be? I also think he played it fine. In order of preference of disguising and thereby getting value I would say: 1) Call flop, lead turn (specifically because 2 hit) 2) Lead flop, lead turn 3) What you did (which seems like a weak iso reraise) 4) Calling through and value betting on river Posted in: Poker Discussion |

The Concept of Showdown Value Can someone clarify this concept' I remember reading a post the other day about the merits of a c-bet and then double barreling after reraising pre on a low board and the argument back was that you are losing showdown value by double barreling (at least in that case). Re:US Players Depositing on Stars NOT using eChecks I will look into these cards, but is there anything that you can purchase at a Duane Reade, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc.' For example, something that you do not have to sign up for and is not necessarily reloadable (if I want to just deposit to get the bonus)' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): tough spot (3/6 NL) Please Page tell me why my credibility is shot because of that comment. He can clearly get his chips in in a better spot and he seems to be aware of this. He is clearly doing well at that table and has no need to go broke when a huge portion of the time he is behind and the times that he's not, his opponent is still drawing at 6-12 outs (including split pots) with 2 cards to come. Re(2): tough spot (3/6 NL) This seems like a much more clear cut situation than most people seem to be making it. Daut was pretty spot on with his analysis, considering the villain's stats. This is also a 9-handed ring game and a limped pot and the villain is in the BB! If Sixhigh had any confidence in being able to outplay this table in the long run, this is a definite fold, which is what he did. He bet out, which may or may not have shown strength and the Villain might've raised to isolate the pot as he was first to act after Sixhigh, but after Sixhigh then reraised when it came back to him, it was extremely clear to ... Re(2): How strong is my hand on the river---check or bet for value? I don't really find the $50 bet to be terrible. If these players are smart they might think you are making a play with the Ah like you said. On the river though, I'm not a huge fan of the $250 bet. By betting that much, I think you are pricing out a Q from calling. I would probably say 170-200 would probably be a better bet as it would maybe entice a call from a Q a little more, plus it shows enough strength that if you get raised, you'll know you have to fold (a 100-150 value bet on the river would not show much strength and you may get bluff raised out). Re(2): Just bought a new monitor!! Can you really fit that many tables on this monitor' You're telling me you could fit 4-5 tables on your old 19 inch monitor and 8+ tables on this new one' The resolution that I see on this monitor is 1680 x 1050. From what everyone has said, the most tables you can fit on this, WITHOUT RESIZING, is 4. Can anyone verify this' If that's the case, I would get this monitor: But everyone has said it fits 4 tables max without resizing. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Question about Green Plastic's Free Video So I just got to watching GP's free video that he provided us all and had one question about the 22 hand that he talked about for a while. (GP, please feel free to chime in). In the hand, GP raised from the SB with 22 (I believe he raised to 12) and the BB then reraised to 36. GP then went on to say that his read of the opponent is that he probably doesn't have something and that he views this opponent as a solid player. He then went on to reraise to 96 (same if he reraised to 104 or 106). Assuming that GP's read on the type of player is off (and this player is not a solid player) or he ... Re(1): tactical v strategic Ooto Call (Auto call). He calls and misses he is down to 1650. Folds he is at 2100. Hits and he is at 3300. 1650 to 2100 is not a big difference (in terms of future fold equity), even if you are putting in 150 next hand in the BB. 3300 is big difference, puting you in decent position to make a run to win. Even if he loses, he is still approx. tied for 3rd and still in position to cash. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Question About Monitor Resolution I currently play on a laptop that has a widescreen and a 1680 x 1050 resolution. I believe it has either a 15 or (more likely) a 17" screen. If I were to buy a 22" with the same resolution' That is, would I be able to fit more tables or would it really be the same thing as my current situation, just bigger' alay9 Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Question about Browerkid's Article First off, thank you to Browerkid for what I thought was a fantastic article about a subject that really needs to be addressed. In this second situation in Browerkid's article, the line he takes (all OOP, after raising preflop) is decent flop bet, check rag turn, "value city" river. I have no problem with the flop and turn. My question is more about the river. As he says the river is "value city," I am not thoroughly sure I am all too certain about this. I have several questions about this: 1) What do you do if this supposedly "bad" player raises your "value bet" on the river. (i.e., what ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): .5/1 NL- 9-person- Very tough spot- PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER I apologize guys for the HH. The reason I changed it is in case there were players on here that were in that game. Needless to say, the hand was played for its flush implications. Normally I would not even come close to splashing around with this hand unless I hit something big, however, considering the table dynamics and the fact that I was in position on the flop (compared to the bettor and caller), it seemed worth speculating to see if I could find a 2 (I thought there were very large implied odds here on hitting a 2 and a good chance I would win the pot with a K, even though if the K hit ... Making a Bet (while in a hand) I was wondering what some of the techniques people use on the various sites to make a bet. For instance, Pokerstars has the slides which you can click on by units. Other sites have the slides as well, but you cannot move it by units. To people find themselves clicking on the box, deleting the number in there and typing in their bet' If so, is there a faster way to do this than going through those three steps' Please answer these last questions. Also would love to hear some techniques. -alay9 Posted in: Poker Discussion |
